♥ LUSH Halloween & Christmas Collections 2020

August 23, 2020

I can't believe it has been nearly an entire year since I have published a blog post! I thought it was about time I dusted this old thing off and got back into it seeing as I really did enjoy blogging so much, it would be a shame to not continue a hobby I liked. What better blog post to come back with than some good old LUSH spoilers! I'm sure most people will have seen these items by now, but I still wanted to compile them into one post and collate the small pieces of information I have heard about the products.

Firstly, release dates! I have been told that Halloween will be released on September 10th and that the Christmas collection will be available to purchase not too long after on September the 24th. Lets get into the good bits, the products!

Pictured - Bat Art bath bomb
How adorable does this new addition to the Halloween range look! Bat Art contains Sicilian lemon, green mandarin, rosemary, and sage oils and is apparently carries the Junk scent. I am so excited for this bath bomb as I adore my Junk perfume and I imagine it would smell incredible in this format. I hope this is a scent family that expands into many new products.

Pictured - Punkin Pumpkin bath bomb
I am so pleased to see this bath bomb returning! The little tag states that this bath bomb has been reworked, so I am excited to see what changes have been made to it. I have read that the ingredients contain Sicilian lemon, green mandarin, sage, and rosemary oils but I think this is a mistake as I really doubt LUSH would release two bath bombs in such a small collection, with the same scent. Last year this bath bomb contained cinnamon leaf oil, lime oil, sweet wild orange oil and Sicilian red mandarin oil, therefore I think it will have the same incredible scent as last year.

Pictured - Lord of Misrule bath bomb
It would be a complete nightmare if LUSH didn't bring back this total staple of a bath bomb! I adore the Lord of Misrule bath bomb, it's just perfect! From the gorgeous creamy scent of black pepper, vanilla and patchouli, to the incredible foam and fizz action in the tub, I can't imagine a winter season without this bath bomb. I hope that this year, the life span of Lord of Misrule lasts a bit longer. I have found in recent years that it becomes a dud really quick which sucks because I like to keep a couple of these for using throughout the year.

Pictured - Monsters Ball bath bomb
I think that, apart from the gel, Monsters Ball may be my favourite format of the beautiful Calacas scent. I'm pleased to see that this bath bomb seems to be becoming a regular return, it really is a gorgeous bath bomb with such bright colours zooming around the bath tub. I really wish that LUSH would bring back Calacas gel for a Halloween season, I'd love to grab a 1kg bottle of that lime goodness.

Pictured - Bewitched bubble bar
The only bubble bar coming out for this years spooky season is the returning Bewitched bubble bar, laced with the Sultana fragrance. At fist I wasn't keen on this bubble bar as I'm not a huge fan of the Sultana scent, but in the water the scent is so much warmer and fruitier, so if you don't like the smell of this on cold sniff, don't be too quick to ignore it. I also love the deep dark waters this bubble bar provides, as well as the clouds of bubbles.

Pictured - Toffee Apple lip scrub
I am really looking forward to trying Ale's new lip scrub creation, how tasty does this sound! I'm hoping I will like this more than I did the Pumpkin Spice, as I think that one tasted a little sickly.  I love the duo colours of this one too, it matches the name so well. I can't help but buy lip scrubs, I have so many but just keep buying more.

Pictured - Very Very Frightening shower gel
I am so so so so excited for this shower gel, because if the rumours are true, then this beauty is Space Girl scented! I was devastated when Space Girl was discontinued, it was such a pretty bath bomb and was one of the cheaper bombs at the time. It was one of them bombs where I didn't feel like I needed a bubble bar at all, in fact I thought it ruined the look of the bath art performance. Bergamot, grapefruit and almond oil is the trio that blends together to make this lovely scent, but I really can't quite imagine the Space Girl scent in this format. I also don't think I like the yellow colour, imagine how pretty this would have been in a bright purple, packed with lustre! Very Very Frightening shower gel is probably the item I am most looking forward to this year!

Pictured - Boo! shower slime
Returning for another year is Boo!, but with a scent switch up! Last year, it was the famous Snow Fairy scent which a lot of people turned their nose up at. I quite liked this product in this scent, and once Gary Shears explained that it was to resemble the baskets of sweets that kids gather after a night trick or treating, ti did make sense. However, this year, Boo! has been reworked to carry the Lord of Misrule scent. As much as I think this is a good idea and will definitely be buying a pot, could you imagine if it had the Mercury Retrograde scent? I'm a bit bitter that the bath bomb isn't coming back this year, but that scent is far too good for LUSH to let go, they need to bring it back in a different format if they aren't going to return the bomb.

Pictured - Ghost in the Dark soap
I must admit, I am surprised that Ghost in the Dark keeps coming back. I really thought that it would be a one off product that would be a bit of a comical item, due to it glowing in the dark, so it surprises me to see it back again! Part of the Avobath family, the lemongrass heavy scent is beautiful and works really well in this format. I have two bars, one from the first year it was released and one from last year so I won't be picking this up this year.

I am looking forward to this years Halloween collection! I am going to grab one of everything apart from the soap, as I already have two. I can't wait to start planning these baths!

**

Next up is the Christmas collection! We have a lot of new products this year and I can't wait to try them all out.

Pictured - I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas bath bomb
Well hello new bath bombs! I love seeing what new bath bomb creations are released every year, and this year doesn't have too many, so I hope we enjoy them! How super cute is this bath bomb!  At first glance, this bath bomb has a look very much like Jingle Spells bath bomb, the purple colour with the sprinkle of gold. I thought that it would possibly carry the same scent, but I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas bath bomb is scented with cold pressed raspberry seed oil, almond oil and grapefruit oil.

Pictured - Tick Tock bath bomb
I think LUSH have tried to jump on the TikTok  trend when they named this bath bomb! This looks like he bath bomb version of Sunnyside, can you imagine how lustre full your bath would be if you paired those two together! Apparently sharing it's scent with Brightside, I think this product will go down a treat.

Pictured - Winter Garden bath bomb
I can tell by the name of this bath bomb that I'm probably not going to like it. I'm not a fan of earthy or overly floral scents at all, and the use of 'garden' in the name makes me think of fir trees and snowdrops, which really isn't my cup of tea. Winter Garden does look like it will be very pretty in use, packed with dried flowers, your tub will look like a winter garden.

Pictured - Angels Delight bath bomb
I really can't explain fully, now excited I am for this bath bomb! I have been yearning for more Angels Delight scented products for years now, ever since back in 2013 when I started collecting and I fell in love with Angels Delight soap. If you're not familiar with the Angels Delight term, you may remember the Magic Wand soap that was originally released for Halloween in 2016 - it has the exact same scent! Ingredients contain sweet orange essential oil and tangerine oil which combine to create the most delectable fruity fragrance.

Pictured - Snowman Dreaming bath bomb
I'm not surprised that this hidden little rainbow has made a reappearance this year! I think it was a brilliant burst of colour in the Christmas collection last year, and the calming scent of cedar wood and lavender oils made it a perfect bath bomb for just before bed. I still have a couple of these from last year and they keep really well. I'd like to stock up on this one again this year.

Pictured - Jingle Bells bath bomb
I completely slept on this bath bomb last year, I only purchased two and I didn't use it until after Christmas when I couldn't grab anymore and that was an instant regret. I'm really pleased that Jingle Bells is coming back, the Milky Bar scent mixed with the beautiful opaque lilac water is just incredible. I will not be sleeping on this bath bomb this year, I'm going to stock up on Boxing Day. This year Jingle Bells is the size of a standard bath bomb, instead of the medium size it was last year.

Pictured - Luxury Lush Pud bath bomb
I think I am forever salty that the scent was changed from Twilight to The Comforter, I just think that the Twilight scent made this bath bomb a total staple! It's also the bath bomb that made me fall in love with the lavender and tonka scent, as I really disliked lavender but I felt I was really missing out on the gorgeous bath art that this bomb provides you with, so I bought a couple in the Boxing Day sale and forced myself to use it! Fast forward a few years and I now love the Twilight scent and can't get enough of it. I do still love LLP with The Comforter though, and will be buying a couple. I'm going to miss the bombshell version, I still have one and I am saving it for a special occasion.

Pictured - Shoot for the Stars bath bomb
This might be an unpopular opinion, but I prefer the older version of Shoot for the Stars, I find that this version is a little too oily for me with the solid oils included within the bomb, and the bath art from the older version was super pretty. This bomb also says that it has been reworked, so i am interested to see what changes have been made! I can't imagine they have changed the scent from Honey I Washed the Kids

Pictured - Snow Fairy bath bomb
I was really excited for this bath bomb last year, but I have been disappointed with each one I have used. I have had next to zero bath art from them, which is so disappointing as I thought this bath bomb had huge potential. I am hoping that this year it performs better for me. However, I'#m not surprised that Snow Fairy bath bomb has returned this year, anything with the Snow Fairy fragrance always does well in sales.

Pictured - Golden Wonder bath bomb
Over the years, I have become a little tired of Golden Wonder. I adore the Celebrate scent and I love the bath water this lustre covered parcel provides, but I have found that every year, the bath art gets less colourful. When I look at images I took back in 2014, the insides of this parcel were like a colour explosion, there were plenty of colourful discs inside that created gorgeous rainbow trails on the water, however I feel like last year, I had a mere two or three. I can't understand how the price of Golden Wonder keeps going up, but the quality of this bath bomb keeps going down.

Pictured - Holly Golightly wonderball
I'm not surprised that the insanely expensive amazeballs from last year have been reworked, to be made smaller and therefore carry a smaller price tag. At nearly £10 a bath bomb last year, my local had quite a few of these to be sold on Boxing Day. I just think people can't justify that price for a bath bomb. I'm interested to see what the guts of these baths bombs are like this year, I imagine they will be full of bath dust and pass on the sugar crystals to also help reduce the cost. I still have my Cinders scented version of this bath bomb from last year so I probably won't pick this one up until the sale.

Pictured - Snow Fairy wonderball
Again, another amazeball from last year that has been reworked into a smaller version. I did use my Snow Fairy amazeball last year and it was quite good, however for the price tag I expected some form of bath art. I'm hoping that this version will give more of a show in the water.

Pictured - Candy Cane reusable bubble bar
I can't understand why this bubble bar keeps on coming back! Am I missing something here? The fact that this bubble bar is shaped, coloured and named Candy Cane, I'm still pissed it's not scented like what it should be!
Pictured - Elfie bubble stick
How super cute is this Elfie bubble stick! I think this is going to give us gorgeous lime coloured water, with the combination of yellow and green. I've become a real fan of this style of a bubble bar, the stick version is so much better than the older version is a reusable bubble bar on a stick, as they just didn't hang on there long enough and the sticks weren't sturdy enough to hold the bubble bar. Scented in banana, vertivert and lemon, this is going to be an interesting scent!

Pictured - Kinky Boots bubble bar
I think that Kinky Boots isn't going to look a lot like this image when the final bubble bars make it to the store!, I see some squished boots! However, I do think this is a super cute idea and I love the style of bubble bar and bath melt, just like Mermaid Tail. Packed with clary sage and jasmine absolute, this bubble bar and bath melt duo carries the Sex Bomb scent/ This is a scent that I have never been too fussed about, but I think that may be because the bath bomb freaks me out with it's fluttering parts, but I am excited to try it out in this format.

Pictured - Snow Fairy bubble roll
Why oh why has this incredible creation never been thought of before! I'm so excited to give this a go, I think the colour will be the perfect shade of baby pink and will pair so well with all the sweet bath items on offer. I think these bubble rolls are such good value for money, I can easily get six baths out of a Brightside, so i will be stocking up on this version for sure!

Pictured - Snow Fairy shower gel
I think it's a complete given that Snow Fairy shower gel will be back every single year, it's LUSH's best selling product, despite it only being available for a third of the year. I still have a 1kg bottle from two years ago that is barely touched, so I won't be grabbing any more this year.

Pictured - Yog Nog shower gel
As much as I really enjoy the Yog Nog shower gel, I really didn't think it would be back this year! LUSH seem to take away items that we really enjoy and I didn't think they would bring it back for a second year. Again, this is an item that has been reworked and I am interested to see in what way. The scent can't have changed, much if at all, as they know it would cause a ruckus in the community to slap the Yog Nog name on an item, and it not smell like the age old bath bomb and soap. I think it will have been a tweak in the formulation, I wonder if it will inherit the consistency of Nana.

Pictured - Roasting Chestnuts on an Open Fire shower gel
I always get excited by new shower gels, they are one of my favourite LUSH products and probably the biggest part of my collection. Roasting Chestnuts on an Open Fire shower gel sounds extremely festive and I can't wait to give it a sniff. I have heard mixed rumours, that it will smell like Happy Blooming or that it will be a brand new scent, reminiscent of a traditional Christmas cake, so imagine a brandy and raisin spice. From the image it looks as though it will have the new consistency, much like Nana.

Pictured - Santa's Belly shower jelly
Again, another item that I do enjoy but I am surprised has managed to make the cut again, if the Santa's Belly shower jelly. I was surprised to see this come back when Rumba was released as part of the Liverpool exclusives, I thought it would eventually end up in all stores and then it would be pointless to have two shower jellies with the same scent available. I always end up with a couple of these, as they always seem to be included in gift sets, so I won't be purchasing one this year as I will most likely end up with one anyway.

Pictured - Once Upon a Time naked and potted body lotion
Yet again, another product that I am surprised to see return is Once Upon a Time body lotion. I don't feel that this is true to the So White scent, it just isn't as crisp as the bath bomb or the gel. I ended up selling the tubs I did purchase of this lotion the year that it was released and I don't plan on buying anymore.

Pictured - Snow Fairy naked and potted body conditioner
I really hope that this year, this products is better scented as I found last year, that my Snow Fairy body conditioner smelt like absolutely nothing. Snow Fairy is one of the most pungent scents that LUSH have ever created, so there was certainly something wrong with me not being able to smell a thing. I also wonder if this will come back in a clear pot or a black pot, I prefer the clear pots as it looks prettier on my shelf. Of course, the naked counterpart is back again also.
Pictured - Orange shower scrub
This is another product that I am really looking forward to trying out this festive season. Packed with  orange peel infusion, fresh orange juice and Sicilian red mandarin oil and tangerine oil, so we can forgive LUSH for the basic name as this scrub really is pure orange! This scrub will carry the Brightside scent. I adore orange scents, it's such a good scent to pair with any other fruity or spicy scent.

Pictured - Yog Nog body milk
I think that a body milk is a really interesting product to be coming out for Christmas! I visited the Liverpool store when the perfume body milks were available so I was able to feel he texture and smell the strength of the scent. I was really impressed with the products, but not so much with the price. However, I've heard that the Yog Nog version isn't going to be too pricey, so that makes me happy! I think this is lighter version of a body lotion and I am so here for that! I hate the time you have to wait around for a lotion to sink into the skin and how you can sometimes feel sticky after using one, so I am hoping that a body milk will remove this part of the moisturising process.

Pictured - Fairy Dust dusting powder
I somehow end up with bottles and bottles of Fairy Dust every year too, I think when I visit my store after Boxing Day and I see that this is usually one of the last products here, I end up grabbing a bottle purely because it's 50% off and not because I actually want it. I do really like Fairy Dust, but I can't help but wish we were getting Mr Sandman back

Pictured - Polar Bear soap
How adorable is this Butterbear shaped soap! I don't think that this cutie will be scented like Butterball though, as we did have a Butterbear soap last year and the name change, to me, suggest that this soap will have the Polar Bear Plunge scent, or something similar. I don't use bar soap so I will have to pass on this one, but I think if I ended up with a bar in a gift set, I wouldn't be too mad.

Pictured - Baked Alaska soap
This citrus soap keeps coming back year on year. Baked Alaska is a super refreshing soap, packed with lemon myrtle oil and grapefruit oil, it's one of the zestier scents that LUSH have to offer. I still have bars of Baked Alaska soap from years ago,m as again, it's one of those items that always seems to be chucked in with a gift set.

Pictured - Golden Pear soap
I don't think people are going to be too happy about the style change with this years Golden Pear, as it is no longer shaped like a pear and will be sold in slices, to fall in line with the other soaps. I'm curious why Golden Pear has been changed, yet the new Polar Bear soap will be sold in it's own shape. I'm hoping to see that the body spray in this scent is coming back this year, although I do still have a few bottles unsealed.

Pictured - Shooting Stars soap
Shooting Stars seems to be another recurring item that keeps on coming back. I have a huge chunk of this from the first year it was released that I still haven't used. I do really love the scent, lime and lemon oil makes for a perfect citrus burst, but I just can't get away with citrus items at Christmas - give me all the spicy scents!

Pictured - Snowcake soap
I bet there are plenty of people that are happy to see the retro favourite Snowcake returning. I was surprised when it didn't make a come back last year, Snowcake soap seemed to be a staple that plenty of people adored. I'm not a massive fan f the Snowcake scent, it's a bit too sickly for me, so I'm not fussed about the return of this soap.

Pictured - Rudolph Nose shower bomb
It seems like Rudolph Nose must have been popular last year, I am surprised to see it make i'ts way back as I really don't see the point in shower bombs. I have used a few now and I don't feel like they clean me at all. A cheap item, I feel many people would grab with just to give it a try and the price tag is considerably less than the average LUSH item.

Pictured - Sugar Plum shower bomb
LUSH seem to keep bringing back the Sugar Plum scent in as many ways as they can, this year in the format of a shower bomb. I really enjoy this scent, but as I am not too intrigued about the concept of a shower bomb, I will be passing on this item this year. I wish that the naked scrub was coming back as I really enjoyed that item.

Pictured - Snow Fairy shampoo bar
I have been using Snow Fairy shower gel to wash my hair for a long time now, I used it once on a whim and really enjoyed how clean it made my hair feel and how the fragrance stuck in my hair until the next wash. I loved it so much, that this is what made me purchase a 1kg bottle back in 2016 and I have never been without Snow Fairy in my collection since. If I have a special occasion or I want my hair to style nicely, I always choose to wash my hair with Snow Fairy, so you can imagine how excited I am to finally have an actual Snow Fairy shampoo bar! I really like shampoo bars, they are so much easier for travelling and they can be used right up until there is a smidge of product left. I really can't wait to give this a go.

Pictured - Bûche de Noëcleanser
I absolutely adore the Bûche de Noël cleanser, it's the most perfect consistency of all the fresh cleansers and the scent is incredible. This is the only cleanser that I use on other parts of my body than my face, just so my skin can carry the scent elsewhere because it's so good. I would really love to see this scent in so many other formats, a shower gel and a body spray would be the top of my list. I'm hoping that Bûche de Noël is sold in pots this year, as last year it was naked and just rolled in parchment and I don't like storing items that are packaged like this. I also really wanted to grab a huge pot last year to freeze it, but you could only purchase the fresh cleansers in one size.

Pictured - Candy Cane lip scrub
As much as I am m really excited for Candy Cane lip scrub, I wonder how much Candy Cane will differ from the long term main line Mint Julips, which is peppermint and vanilla - exactly what I would imagine a Candy Cane lip scrub would taste like.  According to the ingredients, the only ingredient listed that would affect the taste and scent is peppermint oil, so for a sweet minty taste. like a candy cane, you can  just grab Mint Julips all year round.

Pictured - Treasured lipstick
I'm really pleased that some make up items have been included in the Christmas range and I am hoping that they will be in all stores too. I still have some older lipsticks, the type in the black twist up tube, that I really do enjoy, but they are definitely past their best use date now. I have just checked the tubes and teh made by date has rubbed off they are that old! I have shades Elegance and True and this new shade Treasured really reminds me of Elegance, a darker nude shade. I'm excited to try this format and colour out as I currently don't own any of the newer make up items.

Pictured - Ruby lipstick
When I think of a lipstick being named Ruby, I think of a bright shiny red, a pure true red colour - not a hint of red! I'm not too sure about this shade, I'm really fussy with lipsticks as I feel a lot of colours look really weird on me. I feel like this may be one of those colours! And I don't think we will be at a stage where we can swatch items in store, so I think I'll probably pass on this one.

Pictured - Midnight lipstick
This shade looks right up my street! I was never a huge fan of purple lipstick until my boyfriend bought me one and when I tried it, I actually really liked it. I think the right shade looks quite nice with my olive complexion and dark eyes. I'm so excited for this colour as it really reminds me of that first lipstick Reece bought me that went in the bin years ago as it has expired. I will definitely be grabbing one of these.

Pictured - Snow Fairy glow stick
Last year when I visited the Liverpool store when I stayed in Liverpool for the night with my friends and we visited the LUSH store, I remember being quite stuck between whether I should buy the Snow Fairy glow stick or the Rock Dove option, and I ended up grabbing Rock Dove. I must admit, I haven't used it much. The colour when I swatch it on the back of my hand is gorgeous, but the consistency just isn't it for me. When applying as a highlighter, it takes off the base makeup I have on below it and I have tried using it as an eye shadow, which it does look incredible, especially as inner corner highlight, but it's far too oily and just doesn't stay put. For those reasons, I don't think I'll be grabbing a Snow Fairy glow stick as I just don't think I'll get good use of it.
Pictured - Snow Fairy body spray
The first year that Snow Fairy body spray was available as part of the Christmas range, I went through so many bottles! I must have used about 6 bottles in the space of a year, it was my absolute go to fragrance and my boyfriend really liked it on me. I got so many compliments when I wore it for work, so many people actually stopped me and asked me what perfume I was wearing, which I have never had before. For some unknown reason, I still have the two bottles I was left over with and I didn't purchase any in the boxing day sales last year. However, I had a bath bomb sat on my desk while I was writing this post and the Snow Fairy scent is stuck right up my nose and I just can't get enough of it right now! I think I'll grab a couple of bottles this year and wear this a bit more often - when I start leaving the house again!

Pictured - Celebrate body spray
Celebrate body spray reminds me of the trip myself and my friends took to Liverpool last year! If I'm not mistaken, the body spray was released that day or just before, I hadn't smelt it yet and it was one of the only items on my list that I wanted to come away from the store with and I was so pleased to grab a bottle. We then went out for drinks that night and I wore it for the first time, so every spray reminds me of sitting with my friends, drinking wine and setting the world to rights - it holds good memories! I'm pleased to see this back again this year as I only have one back up bottle and it is a scent that I like to wear a lot, even though you really don't need to spray Celebrate much to be doused in the scent.

Pictured - Fresh As liquid perfume, wash card and solid perfume
If I am not mistaken, I'm sure that the scent family that Fresh As belongs to is Needles and Pine shower jelly, which I cannot stand the scent of. To me, it smells like toilet cleaner - anything that includes fir or pine to me, smells like toilet cleaner. I really can't imagine this scent in a perfume either, I can't imagine how it would suit that format, so I am intrigued to smell it but I will not be purchasing.

Pictured - Frangipani liquid perfume, wash card and solid perfume
Again, I don't think I will be a fan of this perfume. A review on the LUSH UK website states that 'if you like the Snowflake and Almond Blossom family, you're in for a treat' and I really don't like either of those scents. They are far too sickly sweet for me. An ingredient listed is Tuberose which I also really dislike, so I just don't think this scent will be for me.

There are a few other items which are rumoured to be returning this year also, Polar Bear Plunge bubble bar being one and Golden Pear body spray being the other. I hope both of these rumours are correct as they are both gorgeous items. There is also rumour that there will be gift sets that include smaller versions of some mainline bath bombs which sounds really interesting - a more budget friendly option. I have also seen images of gift sets that include a soap dish and a slice of soap which I think would make an incredible gift.

So what do you think of the 2020 Halloween and Christmas collections? I'm a teeny bit disappointed with the lack of newness coming this year, but I also understand that due to 2020 being a horrendous mess of a year, LUSH probably have had to cut back on items or haven't been able to get creative in the labs. I am looking forward to Angels Delight bath bomb and Very Very Frightening shower gels the most, I can't wait to try these two! What are you looking forward to the most? Make sure you let me know down in the comments!

It's been really nice to write again, I hope you all enjoy this post!
