♥ How I Store My LUSH Collection!
June 11, 2017
I'm going to gather that you have seen some of my previous posts, you will be aware that I have quite a lot of LUSH products. I like to change around my storage quite a bit. I used to have all my bath bombs on show in cling film in copper baskets, then I switched them out and had my soap in the baskets and now, I keep none of my LUSH in the baskets. With a lot of trial and error, I think I've found a fail safe way to store my LUSH and ensure that I get the maximum life span of my products possible. And my LUSH collection is my pride and joy, not to mention probably the focal point of my bedroom! I thought I would share with you all how I store my LUSH and maybe give you all some ideas if you have an ever growing collection of your own!
I used to store my shower gels and products in pots in my wardrobe, but to be honest I like to have them on show, so that if anybody (literally my mum or Reece) walks in my room it's right there for them to see! What's the point in having a collection if you don't show it off, right? I now keep my shower gels, shower jellies, black pots and perfumes on this lovely ladder shelf that I bought from B&M for a mere £20! I love this style of shelf and think it it perfect for showing off my most prized possessions. As you can see I store my 500g bottles of shower gel on the top shelf, my 100g bottles and my body sprays on the second shelf, my 250g bottles and my one and only 1kg bottle of shower gel on the third shelf and all my black pots and shower jellies on the bottom shelf. I have positioned this shelf out of direct sunlight, which is important as direct sunlight will cause your lotions and shower gels to become thinner and more runny in consistency. I have also heard a lot of people say that Calacas changes colour in the sunlight and turns transparent, which I do not want, therefore that bottle is tucked in the middle, way out any chance of sunlight!
I used to store my bath bombs and bubbles in one of them metal stands you get for your bathroom? I then realised quite quick that bath bombs and bubble bars should be stored in a cool and dark place, away from direct sunlight as the colour in my products was deteriorating quite quick and that's one of the main bonuses of a bath bomb! I now have a whole set of drawers dedicated to my bombs and bars. I have found that this keeps the colours really well. I have also found that using polypropylene bags instead of cling film is so much more effective. My bubble bars haven't dried and the scent is still there with every single bar. I also find that my bath bombs are lasting longer than they ever have! I think a combination of where I am storing them and the bags is perfect! I can't recommend polypropylene bags more for any Lushie out there still using cling film! You can also collect all the dust in the bottom of the bag to add to your LUSH dust jar!
I have started collecting at least one gift box from every collection that LUSH release and I am finding them super useful. I always struggled with how to store my soap and my FUN bars. I tried rolling my FUN bars in little balls and storing in a jar and didn't like it. I tried keeping my soap in little baskets but I found the colour was being drawn from them. The best way I have found to store both of these products is in the gift boxes that I have started collecting! I have finally found one big enough for my soaps, my 12 Days of Christmas box from Christmas 2016, I store my FUN in my Hello Gorgeous box and samples are kept in my Best Friends box from Mothers Day 2017. I find this makes my collection look a lot less cluttered and they're kept fresh in the boxes.
I used to store my lip scrubs and solid perfumes in the same box as my samples but I found I wasn't using them very often as they weren't easily accessible. My mum gave a small spice rack to keep my nail varnishes on, but to be totally honest, I have so many nail varnishes there is no way I could even keep 10% on here! I decided to keep my lip scrubs and solid perfumes on here, on the wall right next to my dressing table, so they are in direct line of my every day so I never forget to apply perfume when getting ready for the day, or scrub my lips when I've removed my make up. Once I start to collect some large bottles of perfume, I think I'll get a larger spice rack to store them on as I think this looks tidy and I can clearly see what I have.
I have also started to save and store the tags from the gift sets that I purchase and the small product information sleeves that you get inside the gifts. I have started to save the small momentum that you sometimes get inside certain bath bombs and of course my LUSH Kitchen Polaroids, some of which I need to remove from the book I stupidly stuck them into. I keep all of these little trinkets inside of my beautiful wooden Karma box that I bought from the LUSH Kitchen a mere few weeks ago. I find this is a perfect little box for now, but I know I will have to find something bigger as this collection starts to grow.
If you're a crazy LUSH hoarder like myself, I'd love to know how you store your products and if you have any tips for me, please feel free to leave a comment down below!
