♥ LUSH Kitchen Loves - #1

It's just over a year ago since I made my first ever LUSH Kitchen order! The LUSH Kitchen is one of them places that once you order for the first time, you're hooked and you need every single product they sell as they are rare and may not become available for years. If you are unaware of what the LUSH Kitchen is, let me explain.. LUSH Cosmetics has been on the go for over 20 years. As you can imagine, cosmetic company's have products that come and go over the years. LUSH tend to discontinue a few products every year. This may be because they aren't selling very well or it could be an issue with sourcing the ingredients due to price points fluctuating. The LUSH Kitchen is there for all the Lushies who once had a favourite product that was taken from our shelves, supposedly never to be seen again! The Kitchen brings out batches every week of products that we've had before, some years and years ago and some that weren't discontinued that long ago. The Kitchen also provide us with brand new products from time to time, some of which you will see below! They release a 'menu' every Friday at around 3pm, telling us which products will be available to buy from Monday right through till Friday. There are usually two products available to buy each week day.
I thought I would share with you all some of my favourite products that I've bought from the LUSH Kitchen over the past year so if you like the sound of it, you can keep an eye out for it coming back on the menu!
Pictured: Calacas body lotion and shower gel
Calacas shower gel was one of the products that came in my first ever LUSH Kitchen order. I had heard such amazing things about this scent family, but I had never had the opportunity to try it as nowadays, Calacas tends to be a Kitchen scent. At first, I was a bit put of my the price tag, as anybody who isn't a complete LUSH maniac would be shocked at paying over £10 for shower gel, but I am so glad I didn't let this put me off. I recently bought this bottle pictured as I am running dangerously low on my first bottle and this is one shower gel I could not be without! I also bought the body lotion at the same time as the shower gel as this is the first time this product has ever been released. The LUSH Kitchen created a poll with some regular popular scents and asked the Lushies to vote for their favourite scents and they promised that the top 5 would have brand new products created in the same scent. No surprise, Calacas won by thousands! As for the scent, I find it really hard to find words that will give this amazing juicy smell justice! The ingredients contain lime oil, which is definitely the forefront scent, but this isn't just a boring lime scent. Calacas has such a juicy scent it literally makes your mouth water! It has the scent of the lime gummy sweets you used to buy as a kid and really does take me right back to my childhood! If you like the sound of Calacas, keep an eye out at Halloween for if Monsters Ball makes a come back, as that beautiful bath bomb shares the same scent!
Pictured: Brightside body lotion and solid perfume
Brightside was another scent winner in the LUSH Kitchen vote. Brightside is a regular line bubble bar which has been around for years and is very much loved. When I saw it listed on the vote, I wasn't that fussed about it, until I purchased a fresh bubble bar and I remembered how amazing the scent actually is! Brightside is a gorgeous combination of mandarin and tangerine, a super juicy orange scent that is very reminiscent of the orange Callipo ice lollies. Not only does the scent smell unbelievable, the lotion moisturises your skin so well and the scent really does stick around for a long time after application, which with some of the other lotions, lets them down. The solid perfume is also a beautiful product. I thought this was going to be a lot like Sun, but this is a lot more of a juicy scent. I much prefer the Brightside solid, now we just need them to create a liquid version! I bought these on a complete whim as I was planning on making an order the day these became for sale anyway, and I am so pleased I grabbed one of each. I think these are the prefect products for the summer, the scent is so summery for a start, but the lotion is quite thin, which I like for the hotter months as it makes me feel less sticky after application. Hopefully, the Kitchen will release these products again in the future as they are a truly gorgeous addition to anybodies collection.
Pictured: Lemony Flutter body conditioner and Lemslip buttercream
When the Kitchen brought out the huge tubs of body conditioners, I was completely penniless. I could not afford nearly £30 a tub and I was heart broken as I really wanted to grab some of them. I honestly wasn't that interested in the Lemony Flutter tub, I gravitated more towards the Lord of Misrule and Butterball tubs. However, when I saw this huge tub being sold on a Facebook page for a total bargain price of £16, I had to snap it up! I was really surprised with how much I liked this product. The scent is consistent with the Lemony Flutter cuticle butter. I love that scent that the product holds, but I find it too greasy to use so it ended up getting shoved at the back of my collection and forgotten about. The body conditioner allows me to have that amazing scent slathered all over my body! I've also used this as a body lotion also and I can confirm that it works well! Another product with a similar scent that I adore is Lemslip buttercream. I know what you're thinking, butter cream is what is used on cakes.. Yes, but this buttercream I use to shave my legs! The buttercreams that are created by LUSH are fluffy in consistency, quite like actual butter cream! I use my Lemslip to shave my legs as the consistency of the product is perfect. Lemslip also works really well with Lemony Flutter as they smell amazing together, give me all the lemons!
Pictured: American Pie shower jelly and Plum Rain body spray
This is literally a duo of an all time favourite scent and a brand new favourite scent. American Pie has over taken Sweetie Pie as my most loved shower jelly, purely for the scent! I am obsessed with the American Cream scent family and I just don't believe we have enough products in that scent. I have been requesting that the Kitchen bring back Flosty Gritter, a pink and glittery bubble bar that smells just like this strawberry milkshake jelly, for months and alas, no such luck yet! I use American Cream for bubbles, for washing my hair and for washing my body. It is such a beautiful scent and I will cry when I run out! A new favourite of mine has to be Plum Rain. The scent family is very new to LUSH as it was released in a year ago this month, in 2016 as an Oxford Street exclusive and must have been a total hit as it came to all stores only eight months later, which I feel is rather quick seeing as some of the bath bombs and melts still haven't made their way to all stores two years later! As Plum Rain is a new scent, there aren't many products in the same scent family. However, this beautiful body spray that was recently released as a Kitchen exclusive but is available most of the time online, has been a complete love by everyone I know who has purchased it. The Plum Rain scent is a gorgeous combination of, as you can imagine, tart plums and tangy oranges. I bought a tiny 100g bottle of the shower gel shortly after it was first released and completely fell in love. I wear this body spray every single day and I think I'm going to have to buy another bottle very soon!
Pictured: The Comforter body lotion and American Cream body lotion
These two products are the two that brought me into the LUSH Kitchen. I had saw photos of these tubs of lotion online and I couldn't understand how I couldn't find the products online. I gathered that they had just been discontinued and trailed the entire internet in hope of finding a pot of each, with no luck at all. Then, in March of 2015, Reece asked me what I wanted for my birthday and I said I really wanted some new LUSH goodies. He told me to have a look on the website and send him links to the products I wanted. I started looking and saw that both of these were up for grabs! I was so excited as I had wanted them for so long, I'd trailed eBay and Depop for hours searching for them and finally, I could get a fresh new pot of each. It didn't go to plan very well as Reece took too long to purchase and both of the lotions went out of stock. Devastated doesn't even come close to explaining how I felt! So you can imagine how happy I was when a couple of months later, both of these came out again! American Cream smells just like the hair conditioner which has the same name and American Pie, as I just mentioned. The Comforter shares the same scent as the long time product The Comforter bubble bar, a beautiful blend of cassis absolute and cypress oil, creating a berry blast! I would recommend both of these products, they smell amazing and leave your skin feeling super soft!
I have so many Kitchen products that I have used and loved so I'm sure I'll be writing another blog post all about those soon! Let me know down in the comments if you've tried any of these products, or any other LUSH Kitchen products that you love!
