♥ LUSH Discon List 2017!

July 20, 2017

So every year LUSH discontinue a few products in order to make way for new ones. This is always  tough time for Lushies as they don't know if any products that they love are going to go. It's usually bath products like bubble bars and bath bombs, but this year LUSH have discontinued a hell of a lot.. We've already had to say goodbye to Wash That Man Right Out of my Hair, Beautiful and Don't Rain on my Parade shower gels, Needles and Pines shower jelly, Honey Bee and Yoga Bomb bath bombs and probably more products that I can't name of the top of my head.

When Mark Constantine posted on his Facebook page that they were considering even more products to go, I and a lot of Lushies couldn't believe it. We had already lost so many products this year, we surely couldn't lose more! So when I looked on my phone after work to see so many Facebook notifications from the LUSH groups I am part of, I was so shocked and surprised to see that more products had been chopped, I was more surprised to see what was going!

On the plus side, there are some new products coming to stores and online on Friday, so to replace the old that is going, we have plenty of new products. Although I am happy and excited about the new products, I am devastated about some that are going. Below I've listed all the products that are going to be phased out right until the end of September.

I am genuinely shocked that this bath bomb is leaving! I'm not a huge fan myself, I have used this bath bomb once and I wasn't keen on the overpowering scent, but this is the oldest bath bomb that LUSH has as a part of the main line and I know it is much loved in the LUSH community. Blackberry shares it's scent with the Sultana of Skin scent family which is super well loved, so much so that the Kitchen brought out a body conditioner in this scent! I'm shocked by this one, but it doesn't overly effect me.

I am slightly upset about Fizzbanger being discontinued as this is a really lovely main line bath bomb. Fizzbanger is part of the Love scent family, which LUSH have just released a body spray in. This is a really nice and fresh lemon scented bath bomb and I'm quite surprised that it's going. This is one of the less boring main line bath bombs, with a duo of yellow and blue colours, Fizzbanger leaves your water a gorgeous green colour. I would recommend grabbing one of these bombs before they go, but I can imagine it will be in the Kitchen in due course.

This one breaks my heart. I can not understand how or why Frozen was even considered to be discontinued, never mind actually make it to the discon list! Frozen came out not long after one of my all time favourite bath bombs was discontinued, Space Girl, and it kind of filled that void for me. Now this is being taken away and I don't really know how to feel. I can't understand how this wasn't making enough money to keep it well aware from the discon list. I thought that the three bath bombs that came to store in 2015, Frozen, The Experimenter and Intergalatic were three of the best selling bath bombs.. I must have been wrong. I have no words.
#SAVEFROZEN!

I really am not bothered that Lava Lamp is leaving as I don't think it works very well. I see what they're trying to do, mix a bath oil with a bath bomb, but I just don't like it. The bath oil sticks to the side of the bath real bad and you have to scrub for ages when you get out the bath to get it off. Don't get me wrong, Lava Lamp has a gorgeous scent and would be a lovely bath bomb if the bath oil part worked better. I won't miss this one as I don't pick it up when I'm in store at all.

I'm not a huge fan of Tisty Tosty either as I don't like bath bombs that have bits in as it feels like spiders crawling all over me and it creeps me out! I also have never been much of a fan of rose scented products and I like my bath bombs to have colour, so this really isn't my ideal bath bomb. What I can't understand, it that not too long ago the LUSH Kitchen made a gigantic version of this bath bomb.. Why would they enlarge this bath bomb if it wasn't selling well? They didn't make a huge Intergalactic which I believe is their best selling bomb, so why make a huge Tisty Tosty? It makes no sense!
This is the one bubble bar that I'm really gutted about leaving. I really enjoy Big Bang, it's one of the really affordable bubble bars, priced at only £3.95, it's one of the cheaper bars. I love how Big Bang is a combination of bubble bar and bath melt too, it makes your bath water so super moisturising and smells insane!I am definitely going to have to stock up on some of these as I will truly miss this bubble bar and it's beautiful blue waters!

I wasn't that over fussed about Pink Flamingo when it came out in 2015, because I'm not a huge fan of reusable bubble bars as you have to leave them to dry after use. However, I bought a gift set not too long ago and I got a Pink Flamingo in it. I really enjoy the scent, it smells quite like sweet sherbet and it pairs really well with so many other products. I think I may grab one before it leaves for good, but I'll probably just hoard it for a long time.

I'm not surprised that Pop in the Bath is being discontinued as LUSH tried to discon this product last year. Somehow they listed to the Lushies and it got to stay. To me, this is a toned down Big Bang, they both have a lemon scent and they are both blue, although you can purchase this product in pink too. I'm not really that fussed about this product getting the boot, I think there are way more citrus scented products that have a stronger scent.

This is another product that I am not too fussed about but I am gobsmacked it's going. What is it with LUSH and discontinuing the bubbleroons? Last year it was Green, this year Yuzu & Cocoa, you better watch out Rose Jam, you're next! All jokes aside, I know this scent is very loved among the LUSH community and I know this is going to be a major miss for some. I know we have the shower cream, but again, if this product doesn't sell well, why would the Kitchen bring out a perfume in the scent not too long ago? This just makes no sense to me at all, surely you would keep the products in the scents that people love? Am I right?!
The only bath oil to be getting the chop is Razzle Dazzle. I'm not too keen on the scent, but I have repurchased this product a couple of times as it pairs beautifully with Big Bang. The colours really compliment each other well. I think Razzle Dazzle is getting the chop as it has quite a floral scent, as it is packed with violet leaf absolute and is supposed to have a raspberry scent, but it does not. I would like to see one of the Oxford Street exclusives come to stores in it's place, but that probably won't happen.

Sea Monster is a product I haven't used! This came out when I had still held a grudge against lavender and as soon as I saw this listed as an ingredient I put it back on the shelf. As I'm more open to lavender scents, I will be grabbing a bar of Sea Monster before it's gone forever as I can't see this being a Kitchen product at all, so this may be the last chance I have!

I have only used Sugar Scrub once before and I think I used it wrong as I remember it all going in one go. I think I thought it was a foot scrub! I think Sugar Scrub is leaving as Scrubee has now became main line and in true LUSH fashion, one comes one goes! I would much prefer to have Scrubee in stores than have Sugar Scrub, so I won't miss this product not being readily available. I do think that the Kitchen will make this in the future though.

I'm not surprised that the solid version of Rub Rub Rub is getting the chop, I'm really not a of this product in the solid form. I found it really scratchy and it actually hurt to use. I feel the only part of your body this would be good for would be your feet. I think the pot version is so much better and I'm really glad LUSH didn't jump the gun and discontinue the original version when they brought this out. I'm satisfied with this product going.
I am a huge jelly lover and to be honest, I can't understand why 93,000 Miles is being discontinued. It's not a favourite of mine, as I really dislike this strong scent of cinnamon, but I know that this product helps a lot of people who suffer from chronic pain and need a product to help their muscles. I'm not too fussed about this product getting the chop, but I feel sorry for the Lushies who love it.

I really can't understand why Refresher is getting the chop! For one, this and 93,000 Miles have just been reformulated to make them self preserving, so I can't understand why LUSH would go through all the trials and tests of reformulating to just discontinue the products! This will be a miss for me, I love cocktailing Refresher instead of using a bubble bar. The super tangy lemon scent is beautiful and pairs so well with other products. I'll have to grab a large tub before this goes!
The Comforter is a hard one for me. I love the scent, I love every product that carries this sweet blackcurrant smell. The Comforter was one of the first scent families that I fell in love with and when the shower cream was released in 2015, I was so happy and it was one of the first products I grabbed in that release. I can understand why it's being discontinued, the product is really thin, meaning that you need to use more product to get a good lather. I am hoping and praying that as LUSH are discontinuing the shower cream, they may bring the gel to stores.. I'm crossing all my fingers and toes for this one! I will miss this as it's also great for washing your hair so I might grab a 500g bottle.

This is another product that I'm not too sad about leaving. I have a 100g bottle of Yuzu and Cocoa and I honestly don't think I've reached for it more than twice, and it's probably out of date by now. I will probably grab a 250g bottle purely to add to my collection.
I don't tend to use soap very often even though I have a pretty large collection of them! I believe I have a slice of Layer Cake in my collection, but I'm not 100% certain. Even though I don't use soap often and not a lot of people rave about bars of soap, I am surprised that this one didn't make the cut and will probably grab a 100g bar before it goes.

Yet another soap that I am surprised is leaving LUSH, Miranda. I do have a bar of this in my collection but it's pretty old and shrivelled up.. So I'll have to grab another bar. I do like the scent of this soap, it has a citrus scent with slight floral notes. I'm not too sad about soap leaving as I don't use it often enough to be upset about it.
I have never had the pleasure of using African Paradise therefore I can't comment on whether I would miss it. I do have a sample that I haven't got round to giving a try, so I think I'll give it a shot before it goes and if I enjoy it I'll grab a small tub.
To be honest, I don't understand why LUSH don't discontinue all the solid conditioner bars. Honestly, if you have used one of these and you have felt a difference in your hair after and you actually got it to work, you deserve a pat on the back and a high five! I purchased the Jungle conditioner a couple of years ago and I hated it! I felt like it was doing absolutely nothing to my hair and I didn't know if I was using enough or not. I won't purchase another solid conditioner and I don't need to as long as I have American Cream in my life!
I have never delved into the world of hair dressing that LUSH has to offer. I try not to use too many products on my hair as I have quite oily hair and I find the more products I have in it, the oilier it gets. So as I haven't used this product and I don't have a need for it, I won't miss Mr Dandys Hair Candy.
Yet another product that I haven't used before. The thing that has put me off using this product is I have used a couple of shaving products from LUSH before and I have never been that impressed, apart from D'Fluff. I might give this a sniff next time I'm in store and try it out, but I can almost guarantee I won't enjoy it.

I bought a bottle of Ambrosia a couple of years back, I've used it once and I still have that same bottle sat in my drawer. I hated this product due to the consistency. I found that it stuck in the blade of the razor, stopping it from giving me a clean shave on my legs. I much prefer a foamy texture or just using my shower gel. I can see why Ambrosia is getting the chop.
I am shocked that Dirty is going. I know a lot of people have had an issue with this massage bar as the brown middle area leaves traces of colour on your skin, but the scent of this massage bar is so gorgeous! We don't have enough chocolate mint scents at all and this product filled that void, I feel. I will definitely be grabbing one of these little beauties before they leave the shelves.

I've never used this massage bar as I'm more of a lotion person than an oil person. Looking at the ingredients of this product, ginger, orange oil and lemon oil, I can't imagine it being a massage bar that would catch my eye.

This is the most plain massage bar that LUSH offer, therefore I'm surprised it's going! People need a bit of plain in their life, sometimes you don't want a product that is packed full of fragrance and the scent to hit you in the face as soon as you pick up the product. I think I'll have to grab a Peace massage bar before it leaves.

I am so shocked that Percup is leaving as this massage bar went viral not too long ago. A girl had been using this after she had showered and after a few uses the beans started to fall out, so she just slipped them down the plug hole. It wasn't until she saw an actual plant growing out of her plug hole that she put two and two together and realised where it had came from. The photo of the plant went viral all over the internet and was some free promotion for LUSH and this massage bar as she stated in the tweets that this was the product. I need to grab at least one Percup before it leaves as the coffee and coconut combination is beautiful!

Shades of Earl Grey is another massage bar that I haven't got round to trying yet. The ingredients list sounds nothing like I would have imagined, that being Persian lime oil and lemon oil. I always pushed this bar aside and thought it would smell like earl grey tea, as the name suggests, but obviously not. I may need to get myself a bar and give it a go.

Strawberry Feels Forever is one product that I have always intended to purchase but never got round to getting it. This massage bar is our little bit of Yummy Mummy and Roller all year round product. For that reason, I'm really confused and surprised that this massage bar was chosen to leave. I know the scent is a really popular one, hence why Yummy Mummy body conditioner was requested so much for a Kitchen release! I will finally get myself a Strawberry Feels Forever, but I'm quite sad it will probably be my last one.

Yet another massage bar to get the chop, Yes Yes Yes. I've never used this massage bar, and I can see why when taking a look at the ingredients. I imagine this is very floral, with jasmine, ylang ylang and rose being components. I could see where LUSH were coming from with discontinuing this product, as I can see why a lot of people wouldn't gravitate towards it, although I can imagine there will be some Lushies who will miss this product.

I am not a fan of tooth powder at all. I used the Tooth Fairy powder when it first came out and I'm quite surprised that it's survived this discon. I don't like how they work, they don't foam very well and don't create a lather around your mouth. For me personally, my mouth only feels clean when I used mint products and I just wouldn't be able to brush my teeth with something that has coffee and sea salt in it! The ingredients speak for themselves, I don't think it takes a genius to understand why this one didn't work out.

Surprise surprise, I'm also not a fan of toothy tabs. Again, who wants to brush their teeth with orange oil and frankincense oil.. Nobody.

And again, why would you want to brush your teeth with rose oil? No? Me either. I can totally see why these are going as I can't see them being popular at all.
I didn't expect a fresh face mask to go. Ayesha isn't the only one, Love Lettuce has been pulled from production too, but for biology reasons. I can't say that Ayesha is a mask that I have used, but that is purely because I always pick up a mask to suit my skin type, and having quite oily skin I tend to go for Cupcake or Catastrophe Cosmetic. I am due to grab another fresh mask, so I may make this my choice before it's gone.

I'm quite surprised that Million Dollar is leaving stores as it is one of the more expensive moisturisers at £32.50. This hasn't been my choice for a moisturiser, as I use Enzymion, which I am super happy still has it's place on my locals shelf! I think if this is being discontinued from a selling point of view, it probably is because of the high price tag.

Another product that I haven't used before but I know is loved among Lushies is Buttered Brazils, therefore I can't see why this is leaving either. I think I would like Buttered Brazils, but I don't use lip balm enough to buy one. I don't think I've ever used a full tub or tube ever!

Passion Fruit is another one that I'm shocked is leaving as I see this lip balm all over my Instagram all the time! I haven't tried this before but it was on my 'I'll get to that,' list. Now I have to buy one because what if the Kitchen never bring it out and it's gone forever?

Sunkissed is the only main line lip tint that I own. I really like this product, more than I thought I would. The colour and the coverage is perfect for a no make up day and I like to wear this as my day to day 'I'm going to work' lip colour. I'm quite sad that I won't be able to grab another once mine has ran out, but I can confirm that they last a long time.

I haven't used this shade as I don't feel like I quite quite a pink red shade, but if the formula is the same as Sunkissed and the seasonal shades like Sugar Plum Fairy, then I'm sure it's lovely. I'm not surprised that the lip tints are going as I know LUSH have reformulated and repackaged their lipsticks, so hopefully they will be making their way into stores shortly.

And again, I haven't used this shade because I feel like I resemble a small child who has played with their mums make up when I wear any form of deep or bright pink shade. But as I said with It Started With a Kiss, if the formula is the same as Sunkissed, it'll be lovely.  This lip tint is also apparently in the same scent family of Yummy Mummy, so if you feel like you'd like to chomp on a roller, this lip tint is for you so grab it while you can!

I love lip scrubs, hence why I have at least 8 in my collection! I love how they make your lips feel instantly ten times smoother and more hydrated. A big thing for me is flavour and this is why I'm not a fan of Popcorn. I don't feel like it tastes like Popcorn, it tastes really artificial to me and I would much rather grab my Sugar Plum Fairy from Christmas, the new Chocolate or all my all time fave Bubblegum.  I see why this has been discontinued, we have just had Chocolate and Honey added to the collection, and there is no way they could get rid of Bubblegum or Mint Julips, so this was the only one they could chop.
And last but not least is Veerappan, a moustache wax, which I quite clearly haven't used! I can also understand why this is being discontinued, I can imagine it doesn't sell well as most of LUSH's customers are probably female and may buy this as a gimmicky gift for Christmas once or twice, but I doubt they would continuously purchase it.

I am really hoping that this is it all now, we have lost too many products this year, over 50 in total, and I don't think we Lushies can take anymore leaving. I am super upset about some products and I will be major stashing some items when it comes close to the end date.

Let me know down in the comments what you're going to miss or what you're not fussed about!
