♥ LUSH Easter - Preview!
February 18, 2018
I must admit, I think that these kinds of blog posts are my favourite to write. I love having a proper look at all the products that are coming out with a new collection release and trying to work out what kind of scent the products will have, even though I'm usually completely wrong! It does get me extra excited to be able to purchase the products. I feel like this Easter release has come round so quick, we've barely had Valentines Day and Mothers Day and it's already here! I feel like some of these products are going to be great and I can't wait to try them for myself!
April Showers bath bomb - £3.95
How freaking cute is this little cloud? I adore the style of April Showers, but I know for a fact I won't be a fan of the scent, which sucks because it's so cute! The main ingredients in April Showers are violet leaf absolute, cypress oil and cedarwood oil with a bit of tonka. I really dislike violet scents, so I know I'd be put off buying this bath bomb due to the scent. On the other hand, I hope this makes it up to all the violet fans for Ba Bar being reformulated with the Twilight scent and they all thoroughly enjoy it!
Golden Egg bath bomb melt - £4.95
For the price they are charging for this golden potato, it better have grown in size and have some colour on the inside! Golden Egg is a repeat returner and carries the ever so popular Honey I Washed The Kids scent, but I really feel like this is a jumped up price that just can't be justified! Golden Egg also looks stunning from the outside, but do let the golden lustre fool you. As soon as your Golden Egg hits the water and you are swimming in lustre, I can guarantee you that a potato will rise from the water, out of nowhere and start to melt and fizz away, leaving you a little bit traumatised. There is absolutely nothing special about this product, it's moisturising yes, but you also have to ensure your hair doesn't touch that water as you will be left with a completely greasy mop!
Bunch of Carrots reusable bubble bar - £6.50
I'm getting a bit bored of Bunch of Carrots now, they've been available for the past couple of years now. They get more and more expensive with every passing year and to be honest, they don't even create great bubbles. I actually still have the bunch I bought last year and I haven't even used them. They're cute, don't get me wrong, but for the actual product themselves I think LUSH offer much better options for bubbles. Bunch of Carrots shares the same scent as the Snowman shower jelly, and I don't think I can stomach that scent anymore after the disaster of opening my Flopsy face jelly (which also carries the same scent and was released last Easter) for it to smell like actual pee. I will definitely be passing on this one.
Cream Egg bubbleroon - £3.75
Now this, is a product that I am excited for! LUSH have made a tiny error here and listed this product as a bath bomb, when in fact it is a bubbleroon! Cream Egg comes in three different styles, 'spotty' as shown in the image above, 'circles' which has a yellow circle in the middle, an orange ring around that and then a fuschia pink holding it all together and a third option of 'marbled,' which to me looks a bit like the Interegglactic bath bomb that was released for Easter last year. I think this is really good value for money seeing as the bubbleroons that were released for Mothers Day were knocking on nearly £5! I already know I am going to love this product as the ingredients contain spearmint oil, cocoa butter, and shea butter.. I can just imagine the amazing chocolate mint scent that this bubbleroon will fill my bathroom with! I know I'm going to need to grab a few of these, in every colour format available!
Seven Deadly Spins bubble spinner - £4.95
Even though everybody is completely done with fidget spinners and the LUSH bubble bar version, I am actually quite excited for this one! Being the massive Harry Potter fan that I am, I need to have this! I actually got a Golden Snitch fidget spinner for Christmas off Reece as a joke and it looks exactly the same! I couldn't help but giggle when I saw this. I think Seven Deadly Spins is going to have a soft citrus scent, as it contains ingredients like bergamot oil, litsea cubeba oil and benzion resinoid. I honestly don't think I'll ever use this, I'll cling on to it and store it in my 'do not use - special and rare' box!
Free Rangers bath bomb - £6.95
This is another product that I am extremely excited for as it has been a long time coming! Free Rangers looks a lot like Chick n Mix from last year, but this beautiful bath bomb is available in three different colours, blue, orange and purple and it has a new scent! I can't believe it's taken LUSH this long to bring out a The Comforter scented bath bomb! I already know I'm going to be obsessed with this as The Comforter is one of my favourite scents! It's been a firm favourite of mine for years and we definitely do not have enough products in this beautiful berry scent. I already want one of each colour and a few of each please! I feel like Free Rangers will go down a lot better than Chick n Mix.
Poisson D'Avril bubble bar - £5.95
How cute is this little fishy! I had to take a look at what the name meant, as there is always a story behind the name of a LUSH product. A 'poisson d'avril' is a joke made on April 1st. In France, children try to stick a fish picture on their friends' back. When the joke is discovered, they shout 'poisson d'avril!' I love how LUSH have included a little nod to April Fools Day! At first I thought that this was a bath bomb, as I think it would make a really cute bomb, but it's actually a bubble bar. The ingredients in this bubble bar contain oakmoss absolute, neroli oil, cinnamon leaf oil and black pepper oil. I can imagine this will have an earthy spicy scent and I am all for it! I do hope that this is quite a large bubble bar and I can imagine it will be the size of Brightside.

Which Came First? bath bomb - £6.95
Now, I have a slight issue with the price of this bath bomb. Yes, it is a little larger than the usual bath bomb size, but not enough to merit a price of nearly £7! I really love the scent of Which Came First? being quite sweet citrus as the ingredients do contain grapefruit and lemon oil, but also vanilla to sweeten the overall scent. This bath bomb is available in two designs, the spotty one as shown in the picture but there is also a stripey version available. I don't understand why there is two different designs of this bomb as they don't make any difference in the water. I will probably pick up one but I won't be getting anymore at that price tag.
Carrot soap - £5.95
I don't think is to be confused with the previous Carrot soap that has been released in Easters past and in the LUSH Kitchen. From what I can gather from people who have owned that soap, this does not carry the same scent as it has previously. The ingredients listed for Carrot are fresh carrot infusion, tangerine oil and benzoin resinoid, therefore I can imagine this to be a little citrus with a touch of carrot, I suppose! I'm not a massive fan of soap so I don't think I'll be picking a piece of this soap up as I can't see myself falling in love with the scent like I did with Raspberry Milkshake and Tunnel of Love.
Here Comes The Sun naked shower cream - £9.75
So this product is a bit of a sore point with me being totally honest. How long have Lushies been asking for a Brightside shower gel? Years is the answer. Why do LUSH decide to finally make what we ask for, but in a format that they know we aren't in love with! I totally understand where LUSH are going with the lack of plastic to play home to their products, but I would much rather they made a completely different scent than Brightside as part of me is a little happy and part of me is pissed and I don't know how to feel! I hate the naked shower gels because I can't hoard them like I can the bottled liquid versions. I feel like they don't work as well as a liquid shower gel and as if I'm just using a bar of soap. I'm also not impressed that this is a shower cream and not a shower gel. I wasn't impressed with my naked Santas Christmas which was also a cream. I don't think cream in this format works well at all. Rant over. I think I will buy a bottle of this, I can't not with it being Brightside scented, but if it was a liquid I'd be buying at least a 500g bottle and I will definitely only be owning this if it comes in a gift set.
Wash Behind Your Ears shampoo bar - £6.50
I, like I think everybody, thought that this shampoo bar was going to carry the same scent as the shower gel with the same name that was released last year for Easter. However, when looking at the ingredients list, I don't think they will be at all! The shampoo bar has ingredients such as lemon oil, alfalfa infusion, and rosewood oil whereas the shower gel has carrot infusion, neroli oil, rose oil and jasmine absolute. There are no similarities at all! This makes me happy as I'm not that keen the original Wash Behind Your Ears scent at all, I smell mainly rose in the scent combination and it gives me a headache. I was going to pass on this but I think I may give it a try actually! Scents aside, the description suggest that this shampoo bar will help to cleanse and balance scalps and while I have oily ends, I do tend to get a slightly dry scalp in some areas.
Big Fish gift set - £22.50
Contains - Poisson D'Avril bubble bar, Here Comes The Sun naked shower cream, April Showers bath bomb and Big Fish knot wrap.

I think I will most definitely be picking up this gift! I love how cute the knot wrap is with the little fishy face! I also think that this is a good way to get a couple of products, like April Showers which I would never buy singularly and also for Here Comes The Sun. I also don't think this is a bad price seeing as you actually get four items including the knot wrap. I do kind of wish this was a cardboard box as it would have been a lovely addition to my box shelf!
Golden Egg gift box - £29.95
Contains - Which Came First? and Free Rangers bath bombs, Golden Egg bath bomb melt and Cream Egg bubbleroon
I am a little disappointed that this is basically the same as the Golden Egg gift last year, apart from the purple ribbon instead of orange. I actually prefer this years as my favourite colour is purple and I am quite tempted to get this gift for that reason, how sad am I! This gift box is purely for show, it's not practical for storing. I stored a load of FUN in mine last year and it just kept popping open, so mine is just for show now. I feel like the price is a bit steep for the items you get as well, as the overall price for the items individually is only £22.60! Maybe I won't pick one up..
April Shower knot wrap - £3.95 (50cm x 50cm)
I am in love with this knot wrap! I adore the little umbrella pattern that is scattered over April Showers, obviously giving the name meaning! I am fore sure going to be picking this one up! The bright colours will look so gorgeous on my knot wrap board and I also think this one will look rather nice in my hair!
Cactus Club knot wrap - £3.95 (50c x 50cm)
Another knot wrap that is stunning to look at! I love the bright oranges and greens in this one, it's such a vivid array of colour! I don't love the patterns on Cactus Club as much as I do the other ones, but I may pick it up anyway as the colour scheme is to die for!
Psycheggdelic knot wrap - £3.95 (50cm x 50cm)
How gorgeous are the colours in this knot wrap though! This, is what you call a statement piece! I love the shades of pink, orange and yellow, they go so well together! I will for sure be picking up one of these gorgeous knot wraps as I can see this looking stunning next to my other ones and also looking nice in my hair too! I'm excited to get this one.
There it is, the Easter range for 2018! Overall, I think this collection is quite nice, although I do wish LUSH would bring back some old favourites like Humpty Dumpty or even bring out the Honey I Washed the Kids shower jelly or my favourite bubble bar Ma Bar, but that's definitely asking too much! There are definitely a few products I want to pick up and I am really excited to smell them all when they arrive in store! What are you looking forward to trying out?
