♥ The Rose & Thistle Wax Patisserie - Haul!
October 14, 2018
I have had a drop box open with Rose and Thistle for the past month and I had to close it, not only for myself because I just kept buying and buying, but poor Tammie must have thought it was never going to get closed! I have picked up some of the scents I wanted the most, some I’m keen to try and see if I like and then I also waited for the autumn restock, so I could pick up almost all of it. I’m so excited to share this haul with you all!
A bit of background, The Rose and Thistle Wax Patisserie is a home made company ran by the lovely Tammie. All the wax is soy and are 100% handmade and hand poured. Tammie restocks a handful of product nearly every day, so to allow people to be able to pick up items that they want and receive it all in one parcel, Rose and Thistle offer a Dropbox system. This means that you can order a few items and only pay postage once, then continue to purchase items to add to your initial order. I think this is a brilliant system, it saves you money on postage, saves the postman delivering multiple boxes to your house, saves Tammie on boxes and is environmentally beneficial due to the less boxes and less transport used!
Pictured - Pumpkin Bread (in glass jar) Candy Cane Hot Cocoa, American Fairy, Banana Milkshake and Sweet Like Chocolate chunk pots and Mamas Blueberry Cobbler 2oz pot
Pumpkin Bread is one I was most excited for and it does not disappoint. It’s spicy and sweet all in one, the most perfect fall scent to burn! I regret not picking up another tub of this. Candy Cane Hot Cocoa is one I grabbed on a recommendation from my friend. I love mint scents and I love chocolate scents, so putting them together is the perfect mix for me. This pot doesn’t fail, I can’t wait to burn this one. American Fairy came in my R&T and Bath Bake Love collaboration and it’s the most gorgeous scent ever. I quite commonly pair Snow Fairy and American Cream together in the bath, but it works so much better in wax. I’ve been dying to burn this since I got it, but I need to grab another one first! I’ve really gotten into blueberry scents lately, so I held out for Mamas Blueberry Cobbler to be restocked. This smells just like the Blueberry Muffin candle I have from Yankee Candle, the blueberry bakery scent is delicious. Banana Milkshake was the first large pot I bought, because I knew I was going to love it. It smells like foam banana sweets, it’s my childhood in a pot! Sweet Like Chocolate is the most gorgeous mint and chocolate combination, this is definitely a pot I can see myself buying again.
Pictured - Chubby Hubby wax brittle (60g)
Chubby Hubby is one of the ones I wanted the most. I had saw videos of Tammie making it on her Instagram story and it looked incredible! The description of it also drew me in, ‘Sweet milk chocolate, hints of butter, creamy vanilla, with a tiny hint of sugary cotton candy and even tinier hints of nuts. Crazy sweet and smells delish! You will love this ooey, gooey yummy delight.’ My friend Louise (@lou_always_bathing) also told me how much I’d like this, and after not being able to pick it up in the first autumn release, I wanted it even more in the next restock. I’m so pleased I managed to get two, as Chubby Hubby is easily one of my favourites. It smells exactly like the description! I think this may have to be the first one that I burn because I just can’t wait!
Pictured - White Apple, Jelly Bean, Juicy Lemonade and Pink Sugar shot pots
White Apple is a perfect dupe of the LUSH scent So White! It smells just like the crisp green apple scent that I absolutely love. The scent is so fresh and clean, this would be a perfect spring time melt. Jelly Bean smells like the purple Starburst sweets! It’s a really sweet fruity scent with a bit of tangyness to it! I already know that this will be a shot pot I’d buy again. Juicy Lemonade is exactly what it says in the name, you can really smell the fresh lemon scent but there is also a fizzy element to it. Lemonade is one of my favourite fizzy drinks, and this scent makes me crave a glass! Pink Sugar is the perfect living room scent, a really gentle sweet scent with a lot of musk. This is definitely the kind of scent that I would burn all year round.
Pictured - Lording It Up, Sleepy Time, Frost Fairy and Dia De Los Muertos shot pots
Lording It Up may be one of my favourites! It of course, shares its scent with the Lord of Misrule scent family from LUSH and it’s a perfect dupe. You can smell the patchouli but it’s very gentle due to the vanilla. This is definitely one I’ll purchase again. Sleepy Time is also a LUSH dupe, for the Twilight and now Sleepy scent family. It’s also a brilliant dupe! I find with most Twilight dupes, it’s very heavy on the lavender, but I can definitely smell the tonka here. I’m saving this one for a night where I need a good sleep, so I can burn this before going to bed. I also bought Frost Fairy, which is of course a dupe for the much loved Snow Fairy scent. This is gorgeous! It smells just like the original! While I'm editing this post, I am burning Frost Fairy and it smells even better when melting! I need a bigger pot of this one. Dia De Los Muertos is another LUSH dupe and this one is Calacas scented. Calacas being one of my favourite scents, I had to pick up one of these and it didn’t disappoint. It’s a strong scent in the tub, I can’t wait to get it in my warmer.
Pictured - Pumpkin Vanilla Cream, Campfire Treats, Toasted Marshmallow and Pumpkin Cookie Crunch shot pots
Pumpkin Vanilla Cream is such a gorgeous creamy scent. It smells exactly like a fall drink, rich and sweet. This is going to one of the first I burn through fall. Campfire Treats is a dupe of one of my favourite Yankee Candles, Fireside Treats. The sweet and smokey marshmallow scent is to die for! This is another scent that I need a bigger pot of! Toasted Marshmallows is much sweeter than Campfire Treats, this is a scent that I know my boyfriend will love as his favourite candle is the Christmas Cookie from Yankee Candle. If you like that scent, you’ll love this! Pumpkin Cookie Crunch has a spicy element to it, but still has a sweet undertone of caramel. This really is a gorgeous scent.
Pictured - Caramel Pumpkin Swirl, Oats Milk & Honey, Banana Nut Bread and Pumpkin Pecan Waffles shot pots
Caramel Pumpkin Swirl is very heavy on the caramel, in oppose to the pumpkin and it works so well. It has a creamy scent that makes my mouth water! Oats Milk and Honey is a one I wasn’t sure whether I was going to like or not. The honey is very strong, and it’s a true honey scent, not artificial. I like this one a lot more than I was expecting! Banana Nut Bread was one I tried to get when it was first released but wasn’t able to. I was so pleased to see it restocked again and I’m glad I was able to grab a pot. It smells literally like banana bread, with a nutty tone to it. I literally want to eat it! Pumpkin Pecan Waffles is another nutty scent, but also with a creaminess to it. These scents are literally making my mouth water and my stomach rumble!
Pictured - Rock God, Unicorn Tears, Moo Moo and Rhubarb Gin shot pots
Rock God is another LUSH dupe, for the Rockstar soap. The creamy candy and vanilla scent is gorgeous! This is one I would love burning in every room of my house. Unicorn Tears is such a different scent, the combination of sweet, fruity and mint is beautiful. I’m really keen to see what this one is like when burning. Moo Moo is a gorgeous vanilla and grape scent that really reminds me of something from my childhood! I just can’t put my finger on what! Rhubarb Gin is amazing! This one went quite quick so I was pleased to get myself a pot. The Rhubarb scent is delicious and the Gin makes it a little fizzy! I need a bigger pot of this!
Pictured - Blackberry Jam, Tea Party Madness, Cherry Slushie and Victoria Sponge shot pots
Blackberry Jam is another one that went quite quick! The strong scent of blackberry in this little pot is unreal, it’s such a thick fruity scent and it makes my mouth water. Tea Party Madness literally smells like afternoon tea! You can smell the fresh baked scones, clotted cream and jam, another one that makes me want to eat it. Cherry Slushie is so good! Even my mum likes this one, so I may have to grab her a bigger pot for Christmas. This smells exactly like a cherry slushie that you’d get from the cinema. In a world of Black Cherry scents, this is a scent that everybody needs to try. Victoria Sponge is a lovely scent, not what I was expecting, but a pleasant surprise! I can definitely smell the fruity element more so than the cake, but I really like it!
Pictured - Blue Raspberry, Maple Nog, Caramel Delight and Peppermint Tea shot pots
Blue Raspberry is gorgeous! More sweet than sour as I was expecting, but definitely a good scent. Blue Raspberry is my go to slushie flavour, so I’m pleased I can now burn this scent in my room and smell it all the time! Maple Nog is another LUSH dupe, this one for Yog Nog. I can definitely smell the maple in this, it’s so strong. I think I actually like this scent better than Yog Nog, which to me has become a slightly savoury scent, whereas Maple Nog is pure sweet goodness. I also have the Maple Nog candle and I’m holding off burning that because it’s so pretty! Caramel Delight is such a good foodie scent, like sweet melted caramel. I think this is another one that Reece would like so I’m going to hold off burning it till he’s at mine. Peppermint Tea smells like it would be perfect for me to burn when I have a headache. The combination of sweet peppermint and fresh mint is gorgeous. I can also smell the tea in the background, which rounds off the scent making it pure clean and fresh.
Pictured - Chocolate Heaven, Hot Cup of Joe, Hot Cocoa, Crunchy Gingerbread Men and Freshly Baked Bread shot pots
Chocolate Heaven is literally what the tub says! It smells like a coffee shop hot chocolate, rich and creamy, it makes me crave some chocolate! Hot Cup of Joe smells like real coffee, like ground coffee beans ready to be popped into the machine, which is one of my favourite scents! It reminds me a lot of the Cardamon Coffee perfume from LUSH, even though it’s not a dupe of the scent. Hot Cocoa is another gorgeous chocolate scent, but this is much more milky than Chocolate Heaven. This smells how I would have my hot chocolate, lashings of milk, spoons of sugar and topped with cream. Crunchy Gingerbread Men is a beautiful and spicy gingerbread scent. I’ve recently fallen in love with the Gingerbread and Cream latte from Costa, and smelling this melt makes me crave a cup! This scent will be perfect for between Halloween and Christmas. Quite possibly my favourite scent ever, is Freshly Baked Bread. This scent is the most gorgeous wax scent I’ve ever smelt, it’s literally like you’ve just taken a fresh home made loaf of bread out of the oven. I’ve already used a pot of this and I’ve bought two to keep me going, but I need a bigger pot of this!
First and foremost, the throw on this wax is amazing, I can burn the wax, turn it off (I use an electric warmer) and still smell the scent hours later. In my opinion, this wax is much better than some other larger known brands that I have tried. The quality of the wax, the gorgeous selection of scents and the dirt cheap prices, I don’t think I’d shop anywhere else! The wax from Rose and Thistle is such good value for money, each shot pot is only £1 and the bigger pots aren’t much more. You can also use my friend Heathers discount code to get 15% off! Check out Heather’s Instagram page (@heather_loves_baths) for the code.
I’m so pleased with every single melt I’ve gotten from Rose and Thistle, they all smell incredible. I’m also pleased I’ve finally gotten this post written, so I can burn all my wax and make my bedroom smell incredible! My only issue now, is what do I burn first?!
