♥ LUSH Boxing Day Haul 2018!

January 12, 2019

I can't believe it has taken me this long to get my Boxing Day haul blog post uploaded! I usually have this written and posted on Boxing Day itself, so this post is extremely late for me. I have been super busy since Christmas. I worked the days in between Christmas and New Year and we were ridiculously busy and although I had the first week in January off, Reece came to visit so I was spending time with him and didn't have a chance to write up a blog post. I'm quite pleased that I left this post a little late this year, because although I did visit my local store on Boxing Day, my sale haul has grown quite a lot since then!

This year was the year that I was finally first in the queue! I'm not sure this gave me much of an advantage to be honest, the person stood behind me in the queue got there approximately just under an hour before the store opened, whereas I had stood there since 9am and the store didn't open till 11. I did manage to grab everything I wanted that my store had in stock, which I am super pleased about. I took a huge Disney Store bag that my Mum had given me my Christmas gifts in the day before and the looks I got when I left the store with that bag full was hilarious!

Let's get started on what I got on Boxing Day..

Pictured - Snow Fairy shower gel and body spray
Okay, I needed another 1kg bottle of Snow Fairy. I bought a 1kg bottle back in 2016 and I'm nearly half way through it now. I use it to wash my hair with and it's a scent that I crave quite a lot, plus it's the only shower gel Reece will use when he's here, so I knew half a kg wouldn't last me very long at all. I'm hoping LUSH keep the 1kg bottles for the seasonal releases, as they didn't last year and I think it was a mistake. I also picked up three Snow Fairy body sprays as I absolutely love this scent in spray format and I've already used up two bottles. I actually picked up another bottle with my Valentines Day haul too, so I have four to get me through the year. I'm not sure whether this will return for 2019, part of me is saying yes because it's Snow Fairy, but the other half is saying no because they never bring back what I expect them to - Christmas Sweater being a prime example.

Pictured - Butterbear shower jelly and Bucks Fizz, Christingle and Snow Fairy body conditioners
I really adore the Butterball scent and I really don't think the jelly will come back next year, so I had to grab a couple of extras. The scent works so well in a jelly format and when used for bubbles the water is gorgeous! I also picked up some body conditioners as this is one of the products I go through the quickest. I use a body conditioner nearly every bath, it's so simple and easy to use. Bucks Fizz is also my favourite ever body conditioner and I needed another huge tub of it.

Pictured - Lord of Misrule, Holey Night, Golden Wonder and Perle de Sel bath bombs
I actually managed to pick up a few singular bath bombs this year. The first few years I done LUSH sale shopping, I never really bothered with single bath items, I headed straight for gifts and focused on them. I've become to realise over the years that you always end up with items you don't want at all and you'll never use when you buy gift sets, and that it's actually still cheaper to buy single items at half price than it is gift sets. I managed to pick up most of what I wanted. I completely forgot about Lord of Misrule being kept till Christmas, so I was pleased to pick up some more.

Pictured - Yog Nog Yule Log, Plum Pudding and Candy Mountain Yule Log
I had to pick up some Yog Nog as I grabbed a Yog Nog bath bomb and I can't use the bomb and not pair it with the bubble bar! I really love this scent in bubble bar format too, it's super creamy and a little spicy. Although the bubble bar isn't the best that LUSH have created, it still makes the water super soft and gorgeous. I fell in love with Plum Pudding, I use it in a sieve which creates bubbles! The Plum Rain scent on this melt is so strong, I'm pleased I picked up more. I also love this years Candy Mountain! The colour this year is so much better, and again, it may not be the best bubble bar for creating bubbles, the scent, colour and silky waters make me not mind so much.

Pictured - It's Chrsitmas Deer gift set
I've had my eye on this tin since I saw it at the Showcase back in September, but the price knocked me off. Last year I bought the gifts I really wanted before the sale so I wasn't disappointed if I couldn't get it on Boxing Day. However, £50 for this tin I felt was a bit of a rip off, so I waited for the sale and I'm glad I did. The contents aren't perfect, but they're quite good! I will of course, use all the bath items and I am always happy for more Bucks Fizz. I've already gifted the soap, so I think the only items that I won't use will be the Once Upon a Time because I still have a huge tub from last year and the bottle of Cinders, as I'm really not that keen on the scent of the gel. I do love the tin, it's currently housing my chunk pots of wax from Rose and Thistle.

Pictured - Wild Things gift set
I had to get this set, purely for the gorgeous knot wrap! I swear LUSH use the better knot wraps for gift sets! I'm not keen on the contents of this set at all. I don't really like the scent of Guardians of the Forest or Naughty Elf and I never use soap, so Strawberry Santa will probably sit in a drawer for the next five years. Butterbear is the only item from this set that I really like. I'll still use the other bits, but I do wish this set had included different items.

Pictured - Meet Me Under the Mistletoe gift set
This was a massive impulse buy. There was one gift set that I wanted, but I didn't see it on the shop floor, so I saw this one sitting on the table, panicked and bought it. I didn't realise until I got back home that it was a shower gift! I usually buy bath gifts in the sale because I go through bath bombs like there is no tomorrow! The set I wanted included tonnes of bath bombs and bubble bars, I don't think there were any potted products or gels inside. I do slightly regret buying this gift set, but the box is gorgeous and looks lovely on my shelf with my other boxes. It's also a great one for storing in.

I visited my LUSH again the day after boxing day and on New Year's Eve and picked up some more goodies!

Pictured - Ectoplasm shower gel, Yog Nog Yule Log, Bucks Fizz body conditioner, Plum Pudding bath melt, Fairy Dust dusting powder and Mint Julips lip scrub
I popped into my local the day after Boxing Day on my lunch break to see what they had left. I wasn't surprised to see next to no gift sets, but I was surprised by the amount of Yog Nog and Plum Pudding they had left, so I picked up two of each. I then went back on New Years Eve as somebody had told me a secret, that they had found a bottle of Ectoplasm whilst doing a stock take and it was available to buy. I got into town as early as I could to make sure I could buy it, as it has quickly became my favourite shower gel. I also picked up some more Bucks Fizz as I can never have enough, the last lonely bottle of Fairy Dust and a Mint Julips, the only item I have bought from the mainline which ended up in the sale.

LUSH then surprised us all by releasing some sale pieces online. I was laid in bed waiting for Reece to wake up, browsing though Instagram when a friend told me that there was now sale online. I went straight to the site and managed to pick up the next couple of items!
Pictured - Christmas Bathtime Favourites gift set
I am super pleased that I was able to grab this online! I bought one of these sets in 2017 and I regretted not picking one up last year. This kind of made up for me not being able to get the other gift set, due to it being full of bath bombs. I was pleased to be able to get some bombs in this set that my store didn't have or that didn't come in the other sets I got, like Cheery Christmas and Luxury Lush Pud. This box has also came in super handy for storing all these extra bath bombs that I now have, it's a really good size for storage.

Pictured - Merry Christmas gift set
Again, I picked up this set due to it including some of the bath bombs I didn't pick up, This gift set was a bit of a nightmare due to me opening it and being greeted by a tonne of dust!My Golden Wonder was literally in half with all the insides being dust and as you can see in the photo, the LLP has had a good beating too. I tweeted LUSH and they sent out replacement bombs, but unfortuantely due to them two bombs being out of stock, they had to be replaced with regular line items.

Pictured - Puddy Holly bubbleroon and Luxury Lush Pud bath bomb
These are another two items that I didn't pick up in store, so I'm glad they came online. I think I've decided that I much prefer LLP with the Twilight scent, I think it suits the bomb a lot better and it was my go to for if I had a headache or needed a good sleep. I think I'm still going to use it with Twilight scented products, I can kill The Comforter scent with shower gel! I also really liked Puddy Holly, but didn't appreciate it's price tag for such a small bubbleroon, hence why I waited until the sale to buy a couple.

Pictured - Deck the Halls gift set
I was super surprised to visit the LUSH Spa in Edinburgh the day after New Years Day and find this one last lonely gift set sitting on the shelf. As soon as I saw the contents, I bought it straight away. Butterbear is a bit of a boring bath bomb to me, so I pair it with others and it will be used. I didn't pick up any other Candy Cane bubble bars so I'm pleased to have a back up, but the main reason I bought this set was for the Star Light Star Bright bath bomb melt, as it's one of my favourites from the Christmas season and my store didn't have any left on Boxing Day.

Pictured - Ectoplasm shower gel and perfume
Okay, so this seems like a lot but I promise, it's not all mine! Myself and a few friends decided to do a group order from LUSH France so we could split the shipping between us. The only items here that are mine is one shower gel and one perfume. I love the shower gel, as I said before it's became possibly my favourite ever! The scent is gorgeous and reminds me of my childhood as my Granda used to buy me Sunny D juice drinks to have when I was at his every Saturday. I also picked up a perfume as I already have a bottle and I really like it. It doesn't last very long on the skin, but if you spray a couple times on your clothes, that lingers all day. I hope the perfume does come to the UK at some point and I pray that the shower gel comes back again for 2019!

Pictured - Star Light Star Bright bath bomb melt
My friend @snapsoflush was super kind and picked up myself and our friend Beth @mermazingbathsuk some Star Light Star Brights as we were both gutted that our store didn't have them on Boxing Day. This bomb and melt combination has become one of my favourites of the Christmas collection, it makes the water so gorgeous and full of lustre. The bath art is also stunning and pairs gorgeously with so many other items, especially a good Calacas bath!

So that's it! My Boxing Day hauls part one, two, three, four, five, six and seven! I always tend to go back after Boxing Day, but I never manage to get the amount of items that I got this year. I'm super pleased to have been able to get everything I did and I think I've knocked everything off my list!
