♥ £2.99 Make Up Remover?!
June 28, 2016Being a complete make up junkie, I also like to trial and test skincare too. Many people make the mistake of not taking care of their skin before it's too late and I don't want to be one of them people! I have combination to oily skin and I find it hard to get the right product for my skin type. I get a few blemishes and spots but I don't have acne prone skin. I'm on the hunt for the perfect skin care regime and I thought I'd let you in on some items that I purchase and let you know how I like them.
Orico London Orange Micellar Cleansing Water & Make Up Remover 200ml
6 months life span
RRP: £18.00 TKMaxx Price: £2.99
I'm a sucker for all things skin care and when I see an item that looks good, smells good and then also find that it's organic and cruelty free, I'm just on to a winner! I've used many different make up removers and in loads of different forms. I've used lotions, waters, oils and balms and I haven't found one that's right for my skin yet. When I saw that this was a cleansing water and make up remover in one, this immediately caught my attention. The box states that this item is a deep and gentle cleanser for clear and radiant skin and that it includes Calendula flower extract and amino acids to help fortify cells, protect your skin and hydrate it. I normally steer away from products that say they will hydrate your face, as I have oily to combination skin but I thought I'd give this one a go as maybe this is where I'm going wrong. The box also states that this product includes vitamin C which will help to strengthen the skin barrier and stimulate collagen and also has tangerine and orange essential oils which help to detoxify and boost skin circulation. If this didn't sell the product to me, the price definitely did because £2.99 I paid for this 200ml treasure! For any type of skin care product I think that's a total bargain. The product is in a clear bottle which has the information printed directly onto the bottle and not slapped on a huge sticker, which I think is much better because you can see exactly how much of the product you have left.
For the first time..
So after wearing a full face of make up for a few hours I thought I'd test this one out. I squirted a couple of drops onto a cotton wool pad and immediately I could smell the orange scent that the box boasts about. It smells exactly like freshly cut oranges. There's a bit of a floral scent in the background but the orange and tangerine just overpowers it, which I prefer as I'm not a fan of floral scents. Less is definitely more with this product, the cap is one of those ones that you push down at one end and the other end pops up with a small gap to allow to product to flow out. Personally, I think this product would have been better with a spray, then you can manage exactly how much product you are using. I think these kind of caps are better with thin lotions in oppose to liquids. I pressed the damp cotton wool pad on my eye lid and rested it there for a few seconds before swiping the make up off and I must say it done a pretty good job first time - baring in mind I was wearing eye shadow primer, eye shadow, liquid eyeliner and mascara! I find when I remove my eye make up I'm using multiple cotton wool pads for each eye, but using this product I only used one pad per eye which is a total bonus as cotton wool pads aren't that cheap. I used a further two pads to remove my face make up and brows. The orange scent of the product lingers on your skin but it's not at all overpowering, it's subtle but still enough to catch a sniff. I found that this cleansing water dried on your face quickly and didn't leave my skin feeling oily or like I needed to dry my face. I continued my normal face routine using my LUSH Cosmetics 9 to 5 Cleanser and my face felt and smelt beautiful!
A Weeks Worth..
After using this product for a whole week, I am really pleased with it. It removes my make up better than any other remover that I've used and so easily and quickly. I don't have to scrub at my eyes to remove the make up and I don't wake up the next day with black under my eyes. This product makes my skin smell so nice and hasn't broke me out. It hasn't made my skin oily (well, anymore oily than it already is) and hasn't dried it out. I'd recommend this product to anyone with oily combination skin or anyone that wears a lot of eye make up and is sick of pulling out eyelashes and having sore eyes after removing their makeup.
