♥ My LUSH Addiction

June 23, 2016

I have this memory of going shopping with my Granda to buy my Mum's mothers day gift when I was younger. I must have been about six or seven as once Chris moved in with us, he was the one who forked out for mums gifts from then on. I remember standing in a shop and being amazed with all the glorious scents and bright, in your face colours that surrounded me. I remember sniffing all the products and being a tiny bit jealous that we were shopping for my mum and not for me. I remember being torn between which product I should pick, because there we so many that I liked and looked like they'd be so much fun! I ended up picking this huge bar of blue and white swirls which smelt amazing and looked so beautiful, just like a Blue Skies and Fluffy Cloud..

I was about 17 and watching an old Youtube video made by the lovely Zoella. If you haven't heard of her, for one, where have you been and two, you should definitely check her out, I'll leave her link below. Zoella was doing a haul of a load of LUSH items that she had purchased and she was describing how amazing they smelt and how they make your skin feel softer, your skin clearer and your hair shinier. Looking at all the products made me want to go to LUSH right there and then and purchase the ENTIRE store. I'm a bit like that, once I get a notion in my head that I want to do something or I want to buy something, I just have to have it! I was working at Marks and Spencer at the time, as I was a temporary member of staff we got paid weekly. So I didn't have to wait long to get stuck in.

As soon as I walked in the shop I felt a bit overwhelmed, but fell right back to that day when I was a kid, shopping with my Granda. I was smelling items but they all smelt the same to me. I was looking at these chunks of what looked to me like hardened play dough and thinking, 'What the hell do I do with that?' I ended up picking up a Snow Fairy gift set which set me back £12.50 and included a 100g bottle of Snow Fairy,  a Shimmy Shimmy skin tint and 100g piece of Angels Delight soap. I actually wrote a review about this item on my old WordPress blog. Once I had bought and tried these items, I was hooked. I think around Christmas time, when LUSH have all their festive goodies out is a great time to get hooked. I went back the next day and purchased the Magic Wand Reusable Bubble Bar , the Bubblegum Lip Scrub, Candy Mountain Bubble Bar, Snowman Bath Bomb, Secret Santa bath bomb, a small sample tub of Charity Pot and an item that came to be my all time favorite, Space Girl bath bomb.

Little did I know, that buying that first little pink box full of candyfloss clouds and sickly sweet goodness, would roll into a seriously huge addiction.

Since that magical Christmas where I fell for LUSH again, I have been buying from there all the time. I've tried many of their products, loved the majority of them and wasn't keen on some. I've heard that a lot of people start by being like me, becoming overwhelmed with the unusual Snow Fairy scent and falling in love with LUSH through it. I still love Snow Fairy, and I get so excited when Christmas rolls around again, because you can guarantee there will be another item that carries the scent. Christmas 2015 has to be my favorite range so far.

Christmas at LUSH is my idea of heaven. In my opinion, all the best products come out at Christmas. I'm not shunning the original line, I just think there's something so festive about the Christmas products at LUSH. When I see them online or walk past my local store, it just makes me feel like it's definitely the most wonderful time of the year and I can't wait to get my hands on all the goodies! The best part about the Christmas collection is that come Boxing Day in the UK, the day after Christmas Day, LUSH has this massive sale where all the Christmas gifts and items are half price. You can grab some total bargains if you queue up for opening time and manage to get to the front of the queue. I was fourth in the queue for Boxing Day 2015 and even I missed out on some stuff! The great thing about the gift boxes being in the sale is they don't just contain Christmas scents, some of them have original line products and some even have Oxford Street exclusives. My favorite set I got last sale was the Comfort and Joy gift set, which included my all time most loved scent, The Comforter, it kind of says it in the name, it's just comforting.

This amazing scent smells literally, like a cuddle. It has a beautiful aroma of sweet blackcurrant, and as you can get a shower cream, bubble bar, soap (at Christmas,) body lotion (from the LUSH Kitchen,) and could get the shower jelly (which has now been discontinued </3) all in the same scent, you can bathe 100% in this smell and it'll linger until your next bath. The shower jelly is called Sweetie Pie and was discontinued in 2015. This was my all time favorite product from lush, because it carried this scent and was so multi purpose. You could wash yourself with it by taking off a chunk and working it into your sponge, you could wash your hair with it by rubbing it between your hands to create a sweet lather and you could make bubbles for you bath with it, hanging a slither under running water. Unfortunately, LUSH decided to discontinue this product :( meaning that I have two tubs left and I am desperate for the kitchen to bring it out again! This scent smells so good on your skin and in your hair. It's just magical!

Many people go to LUSH purely for the bath bombs, they want their bath to look like there's been one hell of a party, leaving behind an amazing mess. The bath bombs aren't just a colourful explosion in your water, they are so much more! As soon as the bath bomb enters the bath you can feel your skin becoming silky soft and feeling great. So not only do they put on a show for you, they benefit your skin too. LUSH have this down! I've never used an item that has caused me to be irritated or have a reaction, as all the ingredients are sourced naturally.

I am always amazed how LUSH get their colours on point. How they can create such magical balls of bicarbonate of soda and make it smell, look and feel amazing! I think that a LUSH item, makes the perfect gift for anyone of any ages. All the scents are for both male and female, even my boyfriend has used Snow Fairy to wash his hair! I think it's great that such a good company is doing something amazing for the world, whilst creating gorgeous products for us all to enjoy! I can't wait to expand  my ever growing collection with all the new and old products. I've been addicted for years and I will forever and a day be a lushie
