♥ Must See Christmas Movies!
December 02, 2016One of the best parts about the build up to Christmas Day, has to be cosying up in bed or in front of the fire, with your pjyamas on and a cup of your favorite coffee or tea, watching a Christmas film. The festive season is creeping upon us, and I thought I would share with you all which movies will be getting me through the holidays!

How anybody can get through the festive season without watching these cult classic Christmas movies, I have no idea. The original The Santa Clause is one of my all time go to festive films. I've loved it since I was a kid and as I had it on VCR (yes, I'm that old) I would re-watch it all year round. I was super excited when the second film came out and I got the VCR for Christmas that year and I remember going to see the third film in the cinema. If you haven't seen these films, were have you been for the last 20 years?

This is probably my all time favorite Christmas film. From the story line, to the animation and music, this film has it all. I was quite surprised to learn that this is a love or hate kind of film, as I absolutely love it. The Polar Express has a really great moral to the story and makes you remember that sometimes you just need to believe.

Funny story, I remember going to see this in the cinema with my mums best friends husband and their son when it first came out. I merely got past the opening credits before I threw up everywhere and my Uncle Mike had to strip me off in the toilets, wrap me up in his jacket and take me home. I was gutted as I had really been looking forward to seeing this film. I got to go a couple of weeks later with another one of my mums friends and her kids and I managed to keep down whatever was in my stomach and enjoyed the film!

I don't think this film would be at the top of everybody's festive list, but I think this is a great November film. This film will transition you through saying goodbye to October and hello to December! The animation is on point and the characters are so likeable. If you haven't gave this film a chance, I would recommend you do!

As a rule, I really dislike Arnold Schwarzenegger and I blame my stepdad. He watches films like The Terminator over and over again and after years of putting up with it, it's made me not so much of an Arnie fan. This film is my exception. When a father forgets to buy the one gift his son asks to be under the tree on Christmas morning, his father knows he needs to get his hands on one for him. The only issue is, this gift is the most sought after present of that year and as soon as it's on the shelves, it's gone. This film follows Arnie on his quest to make his son's Christmas and he faces a few reality checks along the way. This film really does portray what some parents go through to put a smile on their kids faces.

Is it really Christmas if you don't watch Elf? I was genuinely shocked at how old this film is, 13 years old! This film tells the story of Buddy, an 'elf' who has been living at the North Pole all his life. He comes to the realisation that he is not in fact an elf, and begins to hunt down his human father. This film will make you giggle and laugh and is a great family film that will definitely be watched in many homes this Christmas season.

I think The Holiday is the only romantic Christmas movie to make this list! It's because I'm a big kid at heart.. This film is all about finding happiness in the festive season and finding love. With an all star cast of Cameron Diaz, Jude Law, Kate Winslet and Jack Black, this film will make you say 'aww' quite a few times and leave you with a warm fuzzy feeling in your tummy. A definite recommendation for a girly night or a night in with your other half.

Jack Frost is another film that I had on VCR as a child, but this one always made me cry. When a father dies trying to turn back and come home for Christmas, his son Charlies world is shattered. Between being bullied at school and losing his father, Charlie is a mess. That is until, his father comes back in the form of a snowman. This film follows Charlie trying to keep his father with him and stop his snowman body from melting. A real tug on the heart strings with the film, I would definitely recommend it if you feel like you need a good cry - tissues at the ready!

A relatively new addition to my Christmas movie list is Arthur Christmas. I'd heard Zoella talking about this movie in one of her vlogs last year and to be honest, I'd kind of overlooked this film until then. This is a great movie for all the family, following Arthur as he tries to deliver presents to a forgotten child. This film will make you laugh out loud and remember that Christmas isn't all about the receiving.

As if I could write a post about Christmas movies and not include the Home Alone series. This is Reece's favorite Christmas film, so no doubt I'll be watching this a couple of times over the festive season. I don't think I need to explain what happens in these films, as I refuse to accept that there may be people reading this who haven't seen these films!
There you have it, my all time favorite Christmas movies that I will be watching over the festive season. If you can think of any that I have missed out, leave me a comment down below! I'm always open to new movies to binge watch!
