♥ LUSH Christmas 2018!

September 30, 2018

It really is the most wonderful time of the year when the LUSH Christmas collection hits the stores! I've noticed since the collection was released, I'm seeing a lot more Christmas everywhere. I didn't really pick up much of the Christmas pieces whilst at the Showcase, but I'm pleased about this as I like to go into my local store and have a proper look at it all there and also throw my cash their way! I planned on taking photos in my local of all the wonderful products, but I got too carried away talking to the staff and completely forgot! It was a Saturday as well, so it was very busy!

Some products may be missing from here, as I am only going to talk about the products that I have bought or used, and it would be unfair of me to judge a product on merely looking at it and the ingredients list. Therefore, there will be no comments on the naked shower gels as I personally don't like them from my experience, and won't be purchasing any this season.

LUSH Christmas is by far my favourite collection that LUSH release and there are some brilliant products this year. It feels like they have gone in on making new this year and I'm so excited to try it all out!

Pictured - Snow Fairy shower gel
It wouldn't be a LUSH Christmas without Snow Fairy would it! Love it or hate it, Snow Fairy is back for another year and this makes me happy. I have finally finished my 100g, 250g and 500g bottles so I am starting to use my 1kg gel that I bought in 2016! I'm very pleased that this year, you can buy a 1kg bottle again so I will definitely be picking one of those up in the boxing day sale to replenish the bottle I'm using. I'm also pleased that they have 100g bottles this year too as I know this was an issue for a lot of people last year. I'm really pleased about the 100g bottles, not that I use them myself, but they are brilliant stocking fillers so I may be gifting some this year.

Pictured - Cinders shower gel
Okay, unless you've been living under a rock, there has been rumours of Cinders flying around for months. Initially I wasn't too excited as I'm not a massive fan of cinnamon, but I knew my boyfriend would love it. Cinders definitely isn't what I thought it was going to be. I imagined a pure cinnamon scent with maybe a hint of mandarin and clove, total Christmas in a bottle! What I actually get is a lot of almond with a little spice. Don't get me wrong, I really enjoy the scent and can't wait to jump in the bath with it, but it's just not what I expected. I can't smell the cinnamon at all. I'm hoping my boyfriend will be able to sniff it out, he usually can!

Pictured - Sleepy shower gel
I was 100% certain, right up until I saw this product in real life, that this was going to be a shower cream. Why else would they take Twilight, make it opaque and change the name? This shower gel literally is Twilight with a colour and consistency change, there is no difference at all in the scent. I completely get why LUSH have done this, the Sleepy hype. When they released Twilight as part of the Christmas range last year, I bet they expected that to go viral also as it is a shower gel in the same scent as Sleepy, but of course, if you're not a lushie and unless someone points it out to you, how would you know that they share the same scent? Clever LUSH! I'm pleased this isn't a shower cream as we don't want a repeat of last year and not being able to get it out of the bottle! I have a feeling that this may join the regular line..

Pictured - The World's Smallest Disco bath bomb
This bath bomb is a party of bicarb. If Bewitched doesn't make your water dark enough and Secret Arts has too much jelly for you, The World's Smallest Disco is the answer to all your prayers! The World's Smallest Disco gives you the blackest and sparkliest water I have ever seen. The scent is also very pleasant, with lime oil and grapefruit oil, it's a very gentle citrus scent that isn't too in your face. I have tried this one and I can confirm that it does not stain your bath, as I know a lot of people get worried about dark bombs staining, this one cleared right up.

Pictured - Shoot for the Stars bath bomb
I'm so pleased that Shoot for the Stars is back again this year! I adore the Honey I Washed the Kids scent and this bath bomb is the perfect addition to a full HIWTK bath cocktail. Shoot for the Stars isn't the most brilliant bath bomb for bath art, but it give you the most amazing moisturising water due to the bath melts that are included inside of the bath bomb. The water feels so silky smooth after they have melted and your skin feels amazing when you're out of the bath. I'm certain that I will be stocking up on this bath bomb!

Pictured - Holey Night bath bomb
Being 100% honest, Holey Night really doesn't have much of a scent. What it does have, it a lot of colour! I wasn't expecting the core of this bath bomb to be what it is, I was expecting yellow right throughout! This is a good bath bomb to pair with other products for the colour, not for the scent. I must admit, colour is one of the first things I think of when pairing products as nobody wants to bathe in swamp water! I may pick up a couple more Holey Night's but I won't be stocking up.

Pictured - Snow Fairy jelly bomb
Another comeback from last year and I'm not surprised about it! Out of all the jelly bombs that I have used, Snow Fairy has always been the one that has worked the best, smelt the best and kept the best. I am still quite gutted that we don't have a standard bath bomb with the Snow Fairy scent anymore and that the only way to have a full Snow Fairy bath is to use a jelly bomb, which sometimes I just can't be bothered with. I did pick one up this year but I doubt it'll be one I stock up on.

Pictured - Golden Wonder bath bomb
Okay LUSH, we need to talk. Every year Golden Wonder comes out and it gets smaller and pricier. WHY? This was £4.25 in 2016 and it's now £5.50! Last year there was barely any colour inside either so the bath art wasn't brilliant, I'm hoping that this year it's a lot better. I'm also gutted there is no large version of this this year, or any large Christmas bombs to be honest.

Pictured - Cheery Christmas
Another new bath bomb! I’ve used Cheery Christmas and I really enjoyed it! The bath art reminds me so much of the Snowflake knot wrap that was released last year, which is one of my favourites. The scent is very gentle, it’s like sweet citrus and would pair beautifully with The Comforter. Cheery Christmas will be a bomb that I’ll stock up on, the scent is gorgeous and the bath art is pretty too. This is also one of the cheaper bath bombs this year, so I’m pleased it’s a good one!

Pictured - Perle de Sel bath bomb
Perle de Sel isn’t a bomb that I’d usually go for, as it carries the Snowcake scent, a scent that I’m really not much of a fan of. However, I will try it at least once as the photos I have seen online look gorgeous. This is a bomb my Mum would love, she loves the Snowcake scent so there may be one or two popped into her Christmas gifts for her. Perle de Sel would pair perfectly with Cinders shower gel!

Pictured - Butterbear bath bomb
Butterbear is a standard Christmas product at this point, it’s been coming back year after year! I usually pass on getting a Butterbear, but I had to this year! I have the lotion, body conditioner and shower gel this year, plus another gorgeous product that was released with this collection that all share the same scent, so I needed the bomb to finish off the perfect Butterball bath. This bomb is great for softening the skin due to the chunks of cocoa butter included inside. It also smells like chocolate, what more could you ask for?!

Pictured - Luxury Lush Pud bath bomb
Luxury Lush Pud has had a slight make over this year! Last year, the scent was Twilight but this has been shaken up this year and it now carries the same scent as The Comforter. We’ve asked for a Comforter bath bomb for years and this year, we get two! I really learnt to love LLP with the Twilight scent, this was the product that made me appreciate lavender, so I’m quite sad that the scent has changed but also not too mad as I love The Comforter

Pictured - Santa Bomb Bomb bath bomb
I wasn’t going to pick up Santa Bomb Bomb, the price is just a bit much for me. But this came in a gift set that  I purchased and I’m quite pleased I got it. Santa Bomb Bomb does come with a price tag of £9.95, but you do technically get two bath bombs for that price. I will not be purchasing anymore of these bombs until the Boxing Day sale. The scent of this bomb is gorgeous, very vanilla and sweet, this will pair perfectly with so many other products. Mine doesn’t have a super terrifying face, but I kinda wish he did!

Pictured - Snowman Bomb Bomb bath bomb
I am obsessed with the scent of Snowman Bomb Bomb, this bath bomb smells just like the Cream Egg bubbleroon that came out at Easter. Pure sweet spearmint, it’s perfect! I’m so pleased that LUSH have made another product in this scent, I’m hoping this means we’ll get even more! I’m going to pair Snowman Bomb Bomb with One Eskimo and Dirty Springwash for the ultimate mint bath!

Pictured - Princess Bomb Bomb bath bomb
Princess Bomb Bomb is the most terrifying of the three, her face looks like the derp meme and I quickly shoved her away in my bath bomb box before her face could stick in my head! She’s going to look even scarier while fizzing away! I’m not sure about the scent of Princess Bomb Bomb, I feel like it’s something that I’ve smelt before! I can definitely smell the ylang ylang!

Pictured - Magic Wand reusable bubble bar
Of course Magic Wand is back again! It’s no shock that the much loved Snow Fairy scented reusable bubble bar is out this year, especially as they’ve gone in on Snow Fairy again this year. I still have two of these left over from last year, but I probably will pick up another one in the Boxing Day sale. It’s so easy to pair with so many baths, try pairing it with Shoot for the Stars for the ultimate sweet bath cocktail.

Pictured - Naughty Elf bubble bar
Well, this bubble bar looks a little interesting doesn’t it.. I’m not sure on the scent of Naughty Elf. I don’t tend to like the scent of products that are heavy on the petitgrain oil and I am not a fan of violet at all. I’m hoping that when this bubble bar is in use, the mango leaf comes out a bit more, as I can’t smell it much on dry sniff. This is another product that I received in a gift set but one I probably won’t be stocking up on.

Pictured - Puddy Holly bubbleroon
Puddy Holly is yet another product that is very similar to the Snowcake scent family, I think this bubbleroon is a little different though. I smell a lot of almond in Puddy Holly, but also a spicy undertone that Snowcake doesn’t have. I find it to be very similar to the festive bubble bar Holly Go Lightly which was discontinued a couple of years ago. Puddy Holly is also very similar is colour to Holly Go Lightly, it’s the perfect replacement.

Pictured - Candy Mountain Yule Log bubble bar
Candy Mountain Yule Log is basically Candy Mountain, just slightly different. The colour is a lot deeper than the previous bubble bar and I find the scent is a lot stronger. I have used the one I picked up at the Showcase, it made the water super vibrant and the vent was definitely there, however the bubbles didn’t last very long at all. This isn’t a con to me, as I much prefer the bubbles not to hang around long enough so I don’t have to spend forever washing them out of the tub after I’ve left the bath, however I know this might annoy some people. I will be grabbing a few of these in the Boxing Day sale, it’s so gorgeous!

Pictured - Snowflake bubble spinner
Would it really be a LUSH release without a bubble spinner? These seem to be the new love of LUSH, attract a high price and aren’t taken very well by the lushies. Snowflake is as you would have guessed, Snowcake scented! I’m finding it very strange that so many products this year are Snowcake scented, however they haven’t brought back the soap! I haven’t purchased one, as I think £6.95 is a bit too much, but I did make one at the Showcase! I think I’ll be gifting it to my mum.

Pictured - Yog Nog Yule Log bubble bar
A Yog Nog scented product is all anybody has been asking for for the last few years, and this year we finally get one in the format of a bubble bar, I couldn’t be happier! Yog Nog Yule Log is what I remember the Yog Nog scent being, creamy with a little spice! I also love how much product you get for your money, it’s like a brick! I’m going to pair this with Perle de Sel and Cinders shower gel I think!

Pictured - Candy Cane bubble bar
I think Candy Cane may be the most controversial product this year. What on earth made LUSH create a candy cane bubble bar and NOT make the scent mint?! I was so excited for this, I was imagining a Maypole scent, sweet peppermint! In saying that, the scent isn’t what I expected after looking at the ingredients. I thought it would be straight lemon citrus, but the one I purchased smells like strawberry laces! As much as I want to hate this product, I quite like it!

Pictured - Plum Pudding bath melt
Plum Pudding bath melt is so far, one of my favourite products of this release! I used this in the bath yesterday and it was amazing! I popped it in my sieve and used under the running tap, just as I would my bubble bars. The water was a gorgeous purple colour and so soft. Plum Pudding shares the same scent as Plum Rain, which is one of my favourites so I’m pleased that this scent family is growing! I’ll definitely be stocking up on this one!

Pictured - Star Light Star Bright bath bomb melt
Star Light Star Bright quick became one of my favourites last year and that hasn’t changed this year! This combination of a bath melt and a bath bomb, with a tonne of lustre, is the perfect pick me up if you want a fancy bath! The revamp that this little star has last year has definitely worked in its favour! The lime scent is also gorgeous and pairs so easily with so many products.

Pictured - Festive Friends FUN
Festive Friends FUN is something that I wasn’t planning on purchasing, as I don’t use FUN very often. This is also a large roll, therefore has a higher price of £9.95. However, when I learnt that this was Never Mind the Ballistics scented, I had to grab a bar! This FUN does not disappoint! I’m going to try washing my hair with this, as I used to use Pink FUN to wash my hair all the time and I loved it! I’m hoping that this works just as well.

Pictured - Cranberry Fizz lip scrub
I sniffed Cranberry Fizz at the Showcase and I wasn’t keen at all. I don’t know whether it was because so many people had probably had their fingers in it, but I wasn’t impressed with the scent at all. I picked one up yesterday at my local, just because it was new and I’ve found that when I’m surrounded by LUSH products, compared to when I’m at home, sometimes scents come across a little different. The scent of this is very different to the taste! It smells a lot like a Refresher chew bar, with a not so nice undertone. You can taste the Refresher chew bar flavour, but also a bit of a sour taste. It’s not as bad on as it is sniffing it!

Pictured - Sugar Plum Fairy lip scrub
Sugar Plum Fairy is another product that is back again, with that gorgeous Comforter scent, I’m not surprised! I would have preferred to have Santa Baby return though, as that is my favourite ever lip scrub and mine is now out of date. As nice as this is, I don’t think I’ll be picking up another Sugar Plum Fairy.

Pictured - Santa's Belly shower jelly
I’m pleased that Santa’s Belly is back this year, as I’m seriously missing So White bath bomb and this kind of fills that void. The crisp green apple scent is to die for and I’m so pleased to have a fresh jelly to use! Santa’s Belly doesn’t do well with age if I’m honest, it starts to smell like cat pee, so I’m going to be pairing this with my So White shower gel a lot to get the most out of it!

Pictured - Butterbear shower jelly
A Butterball shower jelly has been on my ‘please make this’ list for a long time and I’m so pleased it’s finally a thing! My little Butterbear looks like me after my Christmas dinner when he’s in his tub! I can’t wait to use this, I’m going to pair it with all my Butterball products and my Bath Bake Love chocolate scented bits, for the ultimate chocolate bath!

Pictured - Snow Fairy naked and potted body conditioner
I’m not surprised that Snow Fairy body conditioner is back again! I love the scent in this format and I never bought any tubs last year as I still had a few left over from the year before. This year however, I need to stock up. I’m running super low and I can’t be without, it’s a key ingredient to any Snow Fairy bath! I like to use this on my skin in the bath and I also apply a thin layer after I’ve left the bath for extra moisture. I prefer the potted version to the naked version, I used one naked pot last year and it went down so quick!

Pictured - Christingle potted and naked body conditioner
Christingle is my saviour in the summer months, when it’s far too hot to bathe and I need something to cool me down. I need to grab a couple of pots of this in the Boxing Day sale as my mum used easily half a pot of my only pot when she sun burnt herself in the summer. I haven’t used my naked version of Christingle yet, but I’m going to use it up before I crack open a new pot.

Bucks Fizz potted and naked body conditioner
Bucks Fizz is my favourite ever body conditioner, the Celebrate/Bubbly scent is amazing in this format and the way your skin feels after using Bucks Fizz, is unbelievable! I also really like the naked version, although it’s not as good value for money as it doesn’t last very long. I think I got around 5 uses from the naked version last year and I easily got 10-15 from the potted version. I’ll be stocking up on this one! I bought four pots in total last year and I only have one left!

Pictured - Once Upon a Time potted and naked body lotion
I really am surprised that Once Upon a Time has come back this year, I expected it to be a one time product, hence why I bought two tubs last year. This is supposed to be So White scented, but I don’t think it’s exact. I might try his out again this year and hope that it’s a lot more apple than last year! I do really like the naked version, I just find it so hard to store! I’d pick up another potted lotion, but probably not the naked.

Pictured - Bûche de Noël fresh cleanser
I absolutely adore Bûche de Noël what it does for my skin and the scent are incredible! I’m having a bit of a rough time with my skin at the moment and I’m hoping that incorporating Bûche de Noël into my routine will help! I need to buy so many pots of this cleanser and freeze it so I can use it throughout the year! I’d love LUSH to expand the scent range of Bûche de Noël, more products that smell like this gorgeous mandarin and cranberry scent would be perfect!

Pictured - Rudolph jelly face mask
I’m not a fan of jelly face masks, but I just had to pick up Rudolph. This mask smells like pure chocolate heaven and also has very good effects for the skin. I need a glow, as I have oily skin I tend to use products that mattify me but that can also leave me looking a little flat. I’m hoping that Rudolph can do some magic for my skin!

Pictured - Snow Fairy sparkle jar
I like the idea of these sparkle jars, but I'd much prefer the option of either the dusting powder or the massage bar, which we do have with Snow Fairy sparkle jar this year, to an extent. You can purchase Fairy Dust separately, but not the massage bar part. I opened my pot last year, poured my dusting powder into my Fairy Dust bottle and used them separately. I find this makes much less mess and you don't waste any product.

Pictured - Twilight sparkle jar
Confused as to why LUSH haven't renamed this one Sleepy too? I'm gutted that they haven't sold the dusting powder separately with this one as I adore Mr Sandman and seriously regret only buying one bottle of it. Again, I split the massage bar and dusting powder last year as I prefer this way, but the concept of the massage jar being the pot does kind of work. I don't think I need any more of these this year, so I'll be passing.

Pictured - Gingerbread Man sparkle jar
I am so surprised by this product that I just can't even. I thought that this was going to carry the Ginger scent, which I personally have never smelt, but I have heard is very heavy on floral. I am not a fan of heavy floral scents at all, so I was surprised when I smelt this to find it smells like exactly what it is, gingerbread! Finally, a proper Christmas scent within the Christmas range! I am hoping that this goes down a treat and this scent family is expanded, as Gingerbread Man smells delicious!

Pictured - Holly Berry massage bar
I never really reach for my massage bars, but my friend made me one at the Showcase and I am quite pleased to have this in my collection. Holly Berry smells a lot like Snowman shower jelly, which isn't my favourite scent in the world, but has become a bit boring to me. I will use this as the scent isn't too heavy and once it skins into the skin, it wears off.

Pictured - Fairy Dust dusting powder
Another key ingredient to a Snow Fairy bath is for sure, Fairy Dust. I like to use this, especially in the summer months when I don't want to use lotion. Fairy Dust leaves your skin feeling silky smooth and also includes lustre, so I like to use it on a night time so the majority of the lustre is gone by the morning. I don't fancy walking into work looking like Edward from Twilight, glistening in the sun! However, the price of this has gone up so much I can't justify paying full price for it. £7.95 is daylight robbery for scented talc.

Pictured - Golden Pear soap
I am not a fan of soap at all and I never use it (I'm sure I say this in nearly every blog post!) but I did buy a Golden Pear last year, as I was hearing so much about it. I really thought we would have seen a bath bomb or bubble bar in this scent this year, due to the love for it last year. I'm not surprised that the soap has came back, but I would like to see this scent family grow. At the Showcase there were Golden Pear toothy tabs, which I found a bit weird because who wants to brush their teeth with pear? Hopefully this means we will one day get a bubble bar or maybe even a body spray!

Pictured - Sugar Plum Fairy body scrub
I actually used this in the bath today and I must say, I am impressed! It's not like the other sugar scrubs where it melts into nothing the minute you touch it, Sugar Plum Fairy is quite robust. I have stuck mine in a pot as I didn't want to use the entire scrub in one go. Sugar Plum Fairy also shares the Comforter scent, so I think I'll be grabbing a few more of these before Christmas leaves us.

Pictured - Snow Fairy body spray
Oh boy. You should have seen my face when I heard that this was going to be part of the Christmas range. I regretted so much, only buying one bottle of Snow Fairy when they were released in the LUSH Kitchen. I have used it so sparingly, but it's so hard when it's so good! I am going to easily purchase at least 5 of these during the season, it's probably my favourite body spray. Every time I wear this I get compliments, the lady who sat behind me at work said  it smelt gorgeous, my brow lady stopped mid brow wax and asked where I'd got my perfume from and I'v had compliments of ladies serving me in shops! And to top it all of, my boyfriend actually likes this on me which is a total miracle as he hates 95% of my LUSH collection. This is by far my favourite product this year.

Overall, this Christmas collection is good, but not the best we've had. There are some amazing products that they could have brought back and I can't understand why they haven't.. Christmas Sweater bath bomb is my favourite ever and actually had a Christmas scent, where is it LUSH?!

Have you done your Christmas haul yet? If so, what did you get? Is there anything from previous years that you wish would come back?
